ITT: Games that are unironic, don't have any self-aware humor, don't have quips, and aren't ashamed of it

I seriously hate cuck newage directors like the REmake 2 faggot dismissing classics like RE2 as cheesy nonsense, and acting like they're so much above it. There's nothing overly cheesy about things like the Ivy in the original, if you can accept that zombies can exist for a story, a sentient plant monster is really not much more to ask of the player. Hell, I'd say the original Ivy is actually more believable than the plant zombies in REmake 2. I feel like experimenting with giving plant life sentience totally falls into a believable experiment that could result in a monster like the Ivy.

But if you can accept zombies can exist for a story, and the same story can have sentient plants, then why not sentient plant zombies? You're not making any sense.

And the RE2 remake was fucking amazing. Whether it replaces the original game is a matter of opinion but the remake is a great game that stands on its own.

It's called a PG rating. Senic gaems are still aimed at children, regardless of how someone might be nostalgic for the franchise.

I distinctly remember actually buying this game on release day. I went to the shopping mall on my own to pick it up. I played it and it was absolutely garbage, the controls made me sick, the level design pissed me off so much, and I was such a huge fan of Shadow at the time but that game killed my fandom completely, even for Sanic in general. The last really good 3D game in the franchise was Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle) and that's it. The boost games only made me hate the franchise even more, the games stopped being about platforming and more about cheap thrills that required no skill. And the games were always, always, broken fucking messes.

So anyway, I went back to the store like 2 days later and swapped it for Final Fantasy X, which by then had gone platinum and I had way more fun with it.

Fast forward to now, I think Sonic Mania was pretty good, but I can't replay it, I get bored of it. The franchise is dead and has been for 2 decades.

That's not ironic, and it isn't the type of Marvel quip where the quip is more or less an excuse for what the character is doing because god forbid anything is unironic, that'd be cringe.

I think the RE2R ivies are more believable. The plant is simply a parasite that reinforces the zombified body, rather than entire plant gaining muscle fibers and a sudden need for massive carnivorous nourishment.

God of War's always been very straight with itself. I don't even remember a joke in 2 or 3.

The new ones good just there is a disconnect. Its effectively a caring moron warrior becoming an ultra angry moron murder machine, going back to being a caring moron warrior trying to teach his son not to be AS much of a violent shithead as he is.
It makes sense with his orgin, but jarring if you ONLY know him as the deicidal murder machine he is.

Not Vidya, but I absolutely love the how genuine Bleach is. Seeing japs deride their own kino as "chuuni" is so fucking depressing in modern anime, and it felt really good to go back to something that was cool and proud of it.
