but he's definitely spot on with how shitty all the cutscenes are in this game. just an example of nintendo doing anything they could to try and compete with the PS1 and games like resident evil instead of focusing on what made zelda good. The gameboy color games are better than ocarina of time by a lot because they don't constantly interupt the flow of the game for a lengthy scene of some transexual playing the harp for 5 minutes

I still have a friend who watches GG who sent me a video in rage about how badly he plays OOT in the icy bit of the game where you get hit by enemies you can't see - whilst that's annoying as fuck and he's right, his actual gameplay was appalling to watch. I recently watched a random new episode of GG and it's kinda sad. All the energy has long gone. Arin's shtick consists of 1. forcing himself to giggle at everything and 2. doing his "crank old man" voice whenever he reads stuff from the game. And Dan just exist to randomly giggle and agree with Arin. Boy this is depressing.

What made the show funny was how they played off of each other. Arin was the cynical straight man and Jon the high-energy funny guy. It worked perfectly, on top of being just a comfy show about two friends playing video games and talking about whatever the fuck came to mind.

He went downhill once he got that big studio. He always wanted to get into hollywood and this was the closest he'd get to his dream. Unfortunately, it took all the comfy feeling from his show and it just felt like a mass-product "show as product". Boring and soulless.
As far as other jobs go, I wouldn't know but I remember that he got paid pretty well by his studio and youtube back in the day when JonTron was still super huge. I guess he's still getting a decent sum from his Patreon (if he has one, cba to check).
