Rarely have I ever seen so many people gravitate towards one weapon in a game like this

It's clearly one of the best weapons in the game, for PVE anyway.

I've played BB enough times to come to the conclusion that almost every weapon is viable for PvE, except the rifle spear and stake arm those are just dick.

You know someones a shitter when they use this

Best as in most effective and versatile to beat the game with? Sure, it's top-tier.
Is it most fun? Hell no, it's actually one of the worst weapons fun-wise. Literally just your average longsword\zweihander from any other souls and it's boring as fuck.
Wheel is king. Wheel is everything. Succumb to the wheel.

For me it was always the boom hammer or ammy arm.

Saw Cleaver and Saw Spear are better though. Cope.

I like the whirligig saw, I tried to get into wheel but it just didn't click.

If by best you mean least fun then sure

It surely isn't the most fun weapon in the game, but I had fun with it when I used it.

Most fun I had was with the moonlight sword, especially in dungeons

I've never understood the wheel appeal but I agree with you about the LHB. I decided to use it on the character that I took to max level and it's fucking ridiculous for PvE but also both out of place and gay.

I just like swords, and I liked its transformation.
Too bad it means that I didn't actually beat the game since I used it.

I just like the threaded cane and the pizza cutter. Feels pointless to play a steampunk meme game and just use the closest thing to braindead Dark Souls longsword run.

Church Pick for me.

Embrace the wheel!

He sure embraced it face-first in every one of my playthroughs!

I used this weapon as soon as I got hold of it. However really it didn’t matter what weapon you used as they’re all entirely interchangeable and act in the same way.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days never having played a Souls game before.

Pic related.

Because its just a sword that you can turn into a bigger sword. Most people subconsciously hate BB's wacky weapon design and so gravitate to the most conventional weapon in the game.

The fact remains:

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

All weapons act exactly the same. One longer reach slower version, alternate to one smaller reach faster version. The collision detection in the game is so incredibly generous, it really doesn’t matter which skin you use for a weapon, they all act identically.

See

love a comfy bb thread

For me, it's the kirkhammer

hey guys did I mention that I platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before?

not sure if you guy are getting this

I've done at least one run with each weapon, Rifle Spear is far from optimal but it works fine for any situation. Stake Driver is just impractical though.

Critically you forgot to mention that I went in blind.

Good to see you again, 10daysanon

Wheel is literally the Reddit weapon.
>muh so random!!
>spellsword/gish build
>LORE!!!
>related to sunbro shit
>has a cult that say shit like:
>Wheel is king. Wheel is everything. Succumb to the wheel.
It's still fun.

Hi :^)

People just like using a normal sword instead of the other weird weapons, that's it.

There are weapons that don't follow that pattern, like stake diver or tonsillitis, but the pattern you speak of is nonetheless present. Also, there is no way you got platinum without looking things up on the wiki (finding Pthumerian Queen on your own is a colossal pain in the ass)

I mean, Bloodborne is the only platinum I ever got. I don't even try to get trophies, BB just doesn't require much.

I went in blind. Upon reaching near the end of the game I realised I was only a few trophies away from platinum so I googled the requirements and duly collected the remaining ones. I played 90% of the game completely blind.

>tonsillitis
i feel like it would have been said 100 times before but it's the first time i saw it and it made me laugh

Saw Cleaver with beast blood pellets is superior in every way though.

Not surprising since it's Meat Cleaver 2.0 moveset wise

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The game is inherently very easy. That’s my entire point.

>he hasnt done a stake-driver only playthrough

All weapons act in exactly the same way. Don’t let the different skins fool you.

The only one I remember that didn’t was the blood tinge sword or whatever the fuck it was, that took health from you when you attacked or something like that. Even then the actual combative mechanics were identical to all the rest.

Weapon choice made difference.
Armour choice made no difference.

This game had the fewest RPG elements I’ve ever seen in an RPG.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

ahahaha this fucking guy

*weapon choice made no difference

I tried this weapon once and it felt like shit. Big, slow, depletes your entire stamina bar in 2 swings. Same thing with the hunters axe, everyone talks it up like it's some easy mode shit but they are both clearly inferior to the saw cleaver.

WHAT, 9000?
THERE'S NO WAY THAT CAN BE RIGHT!

>I played 90% of the game completely blind
So you keep saying. Do you want a fucking medal for that or what?

Okay? I don't think anyone here would disagree, it only gets hard a couple cycles in and/or if you purposefuly gimp yourself, but platinum doesn't require any of that.

No, not at all. The entire point I’m making is that it was very easy to do so, not that I’m some kind of hardcore gamer.

In fairness, I have done many other things that are very difficult in gaming but Bloodborne would be easy for anyone with half a brain because of the core mechanics of it and how it holds your hand every step of the way.
