Trying to roleplay as corpo fucking sucks lads

path doesn't matter after the first 10min, it's lame

that's pretty accurate to real life.

until you're partner, you're always somebody's bitch and making pretty mediocre money until senior manager.

I mean that's technically untrue because it effects dialogue but it is extremely lackluster. I thought it would at least be like Dragon Age Origins or something and give a unique 1-3 intro with some unique characters to interact with and story beats after the fact.

The problem is that you cant go up. Unless there's an option to move in into some more luxurious suites or be able to buy your own private military, you're going to remain a street punk doing wet jobs.

Really disappointed at how pointless life paths are. Perhaps I didnt set my expectations correctly. The 'Corpo' part was over in about 20 minutes and then it's back to being every regular ass protag ever. For once I wanted to BE the system, not fight it.

>cyberpunk
>not one single augment you get is visible outside combat
good one

>What is the "entrepreneur" route
>Respect the "hustle" as dumb people say

This is the worst. Even shadowruns allowed you to practically turn yourself into a chrome monster at the cost of your soul (cant go near 100% cyberware of course) but here it's just subdermic implants.

streetkid is obviously the canon choice, corpo especially makes zero sense

man this game fucking sucks ass on so many levels

>>still forced to ride a shitty dinghy ass car
>>still forced to live in a run down apartment complex
fake it till you make it, sounds pretty corpo to me

It is. A lot of the basic shit you do in the game makes zero sense as a corpo. I really wish I went with street kid but I'm way too far that I can't be bothered with a fresh start.

You do know that you can get a better car if you have the eddies right? So the problem is not the game it's you being poor that is stopping you from driving a better car LMAO!

potentially dangerous thought process detected

Where do you buy a new car? Game doesnt even have a private garage that lets you customize or register your main vehicles

Sound like irl corposlaves tbdesu

If I'm a high-level businessman at one of the biggest companies in the world then why don't I start with a better car than a street thug or a hobo?

Just done that Johnny Silverhand mission

Don't care what anyone says this game is fucking kino and the music was sick

some cunt starts messaging you trying to sell cars at some point

The corpo intro literally starts with you losing everything, have you even played?

Fuck, what a bummer. I also heard that your choices affect almost nothing. Hope that nobody calls this FPS an RPG.

So you admit that lifepaths mean jackshit then. Lifepaths dont even give you extra stats like in say Mount and Blade.

Nomad is chad intro choice

>Oh boy i can actually be a businessman, doing corporate espionage etc.
>10 minutes into the game get railroaded into being a hoodrat.

>Oh boy, can't wait to play as somewhat libertarian nomad.
>20 minutes into the game get railroaded into being a hood rat.

I really didn't expect the lifepaths to be one mission and it's over. I expected corpo V to have to report to his boss and do some dirty work for him a few times while also doing the shit with Jackie. Extremely lazy how they did it.

Why even give you the illusion of choice when even the Illusion fails after such a short time.
Maybe people aren't far enough into the game and later on it will be meaningful what you chose?

This game is easily the most boring portrayal of cyberpunk. No augments go beyond face lines robot arms and glowy eyes and barely anything is futuristic or a spectacle at all.
>vehicles still drive on the ground for the most part
>clothing of the future is just modern ghetto clothes
>music of the future is just modern rap and metal
>city of the future is a GTA city surrounded by an empty desert
It's just so bland.

I haven't even gotten out of the prologue. I'm so disappointed by the lifepath thing and the bugs I've barely been playing it. I had a Steam friend who went Nomad and we were chatting within the first hour of the game's release asking how far each other got in our lifepaths and it turns out we were already playing the same missions.

I'm going in bros, wish me luck.

Nah man, you deserve what is about to happen.

First thread I saw on the front page. I need the most complete list of revolvers in the game with images that's available. The revolver aesthetics will make or break my purchasing the game.

It's your background, not your current social standing.

Remember when in the 2018 gameplay you could choose, among other things, why you came to Night City? I think the three short prologues were created quite recently after they threw all of that out, so they could still say you can customize your backstory.
But really, V is a street kid with set motivations no matter what you pick.

Being able to move into richer apartaments would be cool.

I feel like CDPR is going to add that in a FreeLC in a year, and everyone is going to suck them off for it.

Honestly this is disappointing as shit. Path matters pretty much only forna couple cutscenes, has no impact on overall gameplay and doesn't even make your character more inclined towards a certain type of build/skill so my corporate drone is just as skilled in a street fight as the street kid which is bullshit.

Daily reminder that fucking vice city eventually gave you body guards that followed you around once you bought the big ass mansion.

>because they allowed to choose backstory, I expected they would make three separate 60 hours RPG games in the Cyberpunk setting and sell them for a price of one
honestly I'm surprised that they allowed this game in your school for very special children

You can bow to Hanako if you're corpo.

>stalker STILL the best shooting mechanics in an RPG
fucking hell

Isn't it just fantastic how the Corpo side was marketed with screenshots of a literal stock market HUD element, and that has nothing to do with any of the dynamics of the game world and only exists as scripted flavor in the intro before being permanently removed as every character is homogenized into a single type?

Really cool isnt it? The game has been in production for years and they couldnt even bother to add a mini game where you engage in business side of matters so that corpos can paly more dangerously with money, like you know, how corpos are designed to be.

Ah thats nice I guess.

Why not drop it? People didn't seem to care with Witcher 3.
Now it feels like they meant it to be a nice but minor intro, but that doesn't fit at all with the marketing and just looks like loads of cut content.
