How would you fare in the zone?

I would probably die quickly if I went out stalking and shit. Guess I'd open an electronics repair shop or something, working on laptops and PDAs and whatnot

Most people go there for the rumors and opportunities for wealth and treasures, others to discover something completely unknown to the world, thrill, or even desperation and when you have no purpose in your life

With the physique I have right now and my inability to speak or understand the local language very well, I'd do pretty horribly if I was just dropped in. If I could select a set of items to begin with like in Anomaly though, If I didn't die in the first few weeks I could possibly survive until something bullshitty kills me if I play my cards right.

Has anyone played A.R.E.A.? I really, really want to know if the mod is worth it or not. Please.

If you don't join Duty then you're fucked. Although I personally would be much more of a neutral/loner, I think I would have better chances as a Duty drone.

I'd probably go with Freedom at the start (if they won't accept me then Duty yeah) and just pass on the the weed & bloodsuckers. Duty is way too fanatical and I hate their goal, freedom ain't that much better but at least they don't want to destroy the zone.
But yeah loner/neutral is best. Though my main goal would probably be to join Clear Sky if they still existed since they're a faction I like, that and being apart of a faction increases your chances of survival by a lot.

Enjoyed the Clear Sky group too. Both Clear Sky and Duty have an actual goal. Freedom to me are too immediate and self-serving; their goals are not an ideal or an ethos. To me, a life lived with purpose in the face of adversity is a life worth living.
Unironically, the struggles in the Zone probably animate the spirit in a way most people would prefer to their daily rat-race.

Same way I fare in game. Run into a near invisible anomaly, have my body exploded and then realize that every single manual save I made over the past 6 hours is corrupted.
