If you went from using a shitty pc with 8gb of ram and an old hdd to a pc with 16gb of ram and an ssd the quality of life upgrades would make building the new pc worth it even if you didn't play vidya, assuming you spend most of your free time on the pc. If you already had 16gb of ram and an ssd then yeah you just got memed on. Going from a brick with 8gb of ram and a gt 740 on an old hdd from 2010 to a 1660 with 16gb and an ssd was fantastic. The only thing I'd recommend after that to achieve ultimate QoL upgrade status would be getting a second monitor. It doesn't even have to be a $400 tryhard fps fuckface monitor that everyone pretends is required for gaming.
