Melee
ps1 final fantasy
Shit son, you pretty much nailed it. I'd add Rez (with the vibe) and Space Station Silicon Valley.
>ps1 final fantasy
>using the same gimmick with minor tweaks since the snes days
>even in those days each had minor tweaks themselves
Final Faggots never cease to amuse me.
that ps2 game that came with a vibrator
Mega Man Battle Network
This one is fun but you niggers had at least seven games. Perspective shifts dont drastically alter the core formula.
has battalion wars' hybrid RTS/TPS style been done again?
drill dozer
boktai
baten kaitos' card battle system
Fatal Frame III
Star Fox Zero ayyy lmao
The World Ends With You. That shit is the definition of lightning in a bottle. Even with the sequel coming out, there's just no possible way they can do that again. It won't be at all the same. TWEWY was completely designed around the hardware it came out on. There's nothing unique about the Switch that could be utilized for gameplay, which was not the case for the DS. At this point it's unlikely any kind of gaming hardware except maybe VR will ever offer anything unique compared to other platforms. We will literally never see a game on the level of The World Ends With You ever again.
That Kirby tilt game
GOD I love this game. Would buy a sequel/remake in a heartbeat
Battle Chef Brigade
Excitebots
The Wonderful 101
DJ Hero (hope I'm wrong with this one)
Pac-Man 2. A point and click adventure where you can't directly control the character and you have to manipulate their emotions to progress.
katamari damaci
Call it shit all you want, but they tried something. And no one will ever do it as good ever again.
the reason you'll never see another one is because of how awful it was.
If the original vision/ambition was pulled off it would've been a classic. Enough of that idea was there that even after TONS of EA meddling it was still pretty solid. Only truly bad part was the actual gameplay of the Creature Phase since it was like shit MMO combat but single player.
Speaking on that, Lifeline
A game using the PS2 microphone, you talked to a girl and tried to give her orders through puzzles and combat.
Hey You Pikachu! and Caution! Seaman! also used microphones, but those were virtual pets instead of full fledged action-adventure games.
Chulip (Moon is close to be fair)
Killer 7
LOL Lack of Love
Seaman
Contact
House Trap
TJ&E1 (yeah it got a sequel finally)
Cubivore
Baba is You
Fates of Ort
Obra Dinn
Zombies Ate my Neighbors
Rocketslime (technically there are two other games which never came here)
Mister Mosquito
Herzog Zwei
Comix Zone
There are lots of really unique games.
One Step From Eden or Shanghai
Death Stranding
don't be a retard, no matter how "awful" you think it is, the true reason it won't get any competitors is because it's simply too much effort for one game and was proven to be too much of an undertaking for even AAA developers. the "original spore" never fucking existed in the first place, it was just a tech demo.
and, still, no other game has as good of a creature creator.
Im about to blow your mind
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single person mention odama. What a weird game
Katamari
There's still a shitton of interesting level themes they could tackle, yet it seems that we'll never get another one.
I don't know, man. Games where "Everything can happen!" Someone is absolutely going to make Spore again. Maybe it will be better, maybe it will be worse. But they'll make it again. Because in the age of "put as many features in the game as possible solely because it IS possible," someone is absolutely going to make a game about being god and creating life.
Cybertranny also has glitches :)
One of many games I own (with mic) and yet have never played.
While it wasn't fun, Noby Noby Boy was arguably more unique just because multiple Katamari games were made. I agree with you, though.
man the most frustrating part of this was using the microphone
pinball is an untapped gameplay mechanism though, really someone ought to indie that shit up
There's lots of walking simulators
Yoku's Island Express. Metroid Prime Pinball. Sonic Spinball. Mario Pinball Land. Those are from the top of my head. I know there are more.
Pokemon pinball, pokemon pinball ruby and sapphire
I don't think we'll ever see another motion controlled fitness rpg endless runner
Steel Battalion on Xbox

Monkey Ball minus the tranny indie game
Does Katamari count when there's been 30 of them? It's ONLY that franchise though. Nobody else makes a game like that.
