How did you react to Perfect Dark?

I didn't react at all
I enjoyed it more than Goldeneye
"cool, another long dead franchise that can be revived into a soulless abomination"
Perfectly dark
Why would I react? The N64 game was played by barely anyone. The Xbox 360 game was generally disliked. It’s a name and a IP and those only. Like Star Wars. It once had a meaning, and now nothing
Cautious optimism. "Is that Prophet from Crysis?" asked repeatedly.
They going to fuck it up just like all reboots of late 90s games.
I really want to be excited, but I just know they are going to fuck it up.
Happy at first, but then I remembered that I hate video games and they not fill the void anymore :^(
>Why would I react? The N64 game was played by barely anyone.
It sold millions of copies. The N64 was an FPS monster.
It will be playable on PC desu.
>why not make a new IP instead of remaking an old game
That was my general reaction.
>they made a cinematic trailer about an ecoterrorist take on my favorite N64 game that was about cool spy shit and cool weapons and alien conspiracies in corporations and the government
Good fucking job rare, very ebin you pricks.
Because people will buy it just for the PD name, whereas a unique title has to start at the ground up.
I reacted with hesitation, and then ultimately despair when i found out who the design director was.
>Directed by the guy who did the Nu Tomb Raider games
Yeah I'm not excited.
I thought it was great even though no gameplay was shown. MS needs as many games as they can get.
I remembered how much I played perfect dark zero multiplayer with bots only
(no friends, afraid of online interactions)
it feels sad
>I thought it was great even though no gameplay was shown
this is your brain on consoomerism
The Initiative will be just as shitty as The Coalition and 343 Industries. Microsoft wanted a trinity of in-house fuck ups.
I'm going to laugh my ass off if they force InXile to make an action game right after InXile FINALLY delivered the goods on a decent CRPG with Wasteland 2.
I thought "well this isn't cyberpunk at all"
Level 1 in the first Perfect Dark was straight up Blade Runner.
The Coalition are great though, they just need better writers.
Alright Zig Forums what was your favorite gun and why was it the Laptop Gun or Farsight?
It's not a remake. It's a new Perfect Dark game. What is with this inane "new IP" obsession? Why is it surprising to you that people want a third Half-Life? A Tomb Raider that goes back to its roots? A new Banjo game? A new James Bond game? (Which IOI is making.) You could make a spiritual successor, but why would you make an off brand Perfect Dark instead of a real Perfect Dark?
I said it last thread but I'll say it again.
Am i the only one noticing it looks less futuristic?
Something just felt off with that trailer.
I'm really not feeling the new setting of this one.
I wanted it to look more like this
youtube.com
I was watching the VGAs with my friends in discord. During the trailer I jokingly said "It's Perfect Dark" and about 10 seconds later we all busted out laughing really hard. I expect it to be bad.
I wish new FPS could capture the creativity of PD's weapons. PD even made many PC FPS of the time look timid in comparison.
I'm not sure i would go that far, but it was certainly futuristic and had cyberpunk elements
