The zoos i visited in real life have animals below the walking area and very rarely you could touch a cage, so i just try to aim for that

It's fairly rare for enclosures to be on-level with visitors in real zoos, at least with larger animals. Perhaps one or two sections of the enclosure, but those areas are usually behind glass or indoors.
Most zoos use pits that you look down into. Even enclosures that slope up to simulate mountainsides usually start with a pit right in front of the viewing area that slopes up
