Monster Hunter Rise

Weapon showcases soon, what are your hopes for your main?

newcomer to MonHun here, I wanted to start with Rise but now I'm considering buying either MHGU or 4U on 3DS since we're still over 3 months away, how should I aproach selecting my weapon? should I try them and just stick with the one I enjoy the most or should I keep at least a couple of backup weapons to use from time to time so that when I meet a monster I struggle defeating with my main weapon I can switch to the backups?

I hope lance can climb up with the charge, otherwise the poke-y stick is my way to go.
I hope they keep the world move-set and improve on it a lot more, perhaps buff the motion values.

how about you just find for yourself while having fun? ;)

Just try the weapon types that look cool, you can't fuck up progression by making too many weapons so just make new ones when you feel like it. If you want to be autistic about it then watch experienced players use your weapons to learn how to use them optimally.

Every monster is beatable with every weapon. Certain monsters might be easier or harder, but it can be done.
Also if you have a Switch already and decide to go with GU I highly recommend getting it on that system instead of on 3DS.

Wyvern Ignition's return.

Just try them all out. You can play through the whole game with one weapon but some time other weapons are a better/easier matchup against specific monster.

monster hunter is trash now

Are you ready for the glorious return of the autistic screeching dick chicken?

I hope they remove LS. Fuck LS hahaha am I right my hunter bros? xD

Soon

I stuck with the one I enjoyed the most, then after 300 hours or so I started trying other things. I also started with Mhgu as my first game and I think its a really good entry into the series. It has a lot of variety in monsters and you can get into the action relatively quick compared to world.

Those gears look terrible.

I also just started with mhgu, first with lance, but it felt a bit slow and awkward to use against the early types of monsters. I‘m now trying (aerial) switch axe and that one is really different and a lot of fun.
The game has a „tutorial arena“ type thing, where you can try a fight against a monster with any weapon and you get some basic pointers on how to use it. Also gaijin hunter‘s youtube weapon guides were very helpful for me.

t. Tranny

why are you so obsessed with trannies user
is there something you want to share with the rest of us?

cope

Thank fuck BONED weapons are gone

I'm personally just worried about the confirmation of multiplayer scaling.
Depending on how they handle it it could either be really good (1-2 players same difficulty as in previous games, 3-4 players a bit harder) or really bad (hub quests are the same difficulty as village when soloing).

>play 4u for the first time
>hear that only CB, GS, HBG and bugstick are viable for the endgame
>pick CB because I want to do something different and finally get decent at the weapon after so many times failing
>get carried by it through LR
>get fucked in HR when I realize I'm no longer carried by it and have to actually be decent with it
>return back to GS grugstick
And yet GS can only be fun for a little bit until you are sick of doing 1 attack over and over again. I wish this series would finally grant me a main weapon I will never abandon.

I think 2 player scaling will probably be the minimum for hub quests, otherwise there would have been no point separating them from village quests again.

I hope lance has more than one shield attack.

Why not try IG then?

It is lame. Bug sucks and I hate its moveset. I would rather pick SnS or DB over it, really.

I have a feeling that they involved Gaijin Hunter for the making of these videos, he still hasn't uploaded anything regarding the 2nd trailer and usually he's very quick with news coverage.

GH isn't clean and politically correct enough and actually criticizes the games every now and then, if anything they'd use Arekkz because he's a legitimate corporate mouthpiece and professional shill

Also if you look on his Twitter he hasn't uploaded anything yet because he's feeling ill

I dont really have a main, but i do favor the IG. If mounting is actually gone, maybe i'll actually use the vault for once.

Mounting isn't gone but it's been reworked. At the very least mounting through aerial attacks is going to be different thanks to the wirebug letting you pull them off on demand.

>Gaijin Hunter isn't politically correct
What?

insectglaive goingg back to the mh4u days
it's so weak in work

Are the demos still available?
I choose my weapon by trying everything in the 3U demo.
I think I had over 20 hours playtime in that demo alone

Just try them out until you find one you really like. Switchaxe is my weaponfu, but I switch between it and Gunlance/Lance/Dual Swords depending on what I'm fighting

he's beaten his wife and child

Uhh, based?

I hope SnS remains unchanged from Iceborne, maybe with a few nerfs to the more centralising moves like Perfect Rush.
I also kinda hope that they bring back Switch Axe to what it felt like in 4th gen, I do really like Iceborne’s Switch Axe but it sometimes feels like a completely different weapon from the pre-world Switch Axe which I preferred the playstyle of.
Hunting horn is perfect in Iceborne and with the addition of any notes from the draw attack that’ll make it even better in Rise. I really hope they don’t remove the spin attack in Rise for whatever reason.

as expected nothing but buzzwords

What armor is this? Looks sick.

>I hope SnS remains unchanged from Iceborne
Fuck no, SnS combos felt like shit in World, they slowed down its basic moveset so much for no reason and you needed ridiculously precise inputs for your attacks to not get delayed by a fuckton
