Religion will never go away because it's a set of mechanisms and systems deeply ingrained in our psyche to the point where you can detect brain responses to spiritual stuff.

Exactly. It's incredibly important to criticize and develop religion as time goes on, but when the people mocking the religion are being as mindless about their criticism as the people following the religion, nobody learns jack shit.
