All these AAA games spending billions on grafix
ROCK AND STONE!
is it fun with friends?
The game got stale and boring fast. Luckily i never paid a dime for it (only 1 buck for gamepass).
Every game is fun with friends, even Fallout 76.
Yes, even if it's just one other pal. Leave the game lobby open and let the random dwarves do their thing. I wouldn't get the game if you're going to solo everything though. Game goes down to 20 bucks every Steam sale, pick it up during one.
This babe's THE greatest co-op game ever created. Asking if a co-op MP title is "fun w/ friends" is the top-tier rhetorical question, but DRG is fun even with pure randoms.
I love playing it with a friend of mine. Solo mining gives you Bosco, a robot companion. It's very comfy but it's a lot more quiet and a different experience.
Don't listen to that faggot. You will regret your purchase because you've seen everything the game has to offer in 4 hours or so.
Get the trial account for gamepass (it's 1 buck) and check if you like it. You can still buy it afterwards, but i'm personally glad i didn't buy it.
>The game got stale and boring fast
...so when does it get boring exactly?
>gamepass fag
I see that scam of a service is the ultimate pleb magnet.
fuck off shill.
This game stops being fun after roughly one hour of gameplay. But it's always a lot of fun in that hour.
I wonder who's the shill here.
>BUY THE GAME FOR 20 BUCKS!
vs
>try it out via gamepass for 1 buck
So you claim that in the time you barely can finish the tutorial mission, check out the space rig and MAYBE do the first rookie assigment, the game's already over?
Yeah, fuck off knife ear.
I play this one day every week with 3 of my best friends, it's a hoot. Game oozes soul.
When's the next update out?
Tremendously
You for even hinting that a monthly subscription Netflix for vidya ran by Microcock, one that confines you into MS' own eco-system and thus blocking you from most of the players, would be in any way a smart choice.
January.
>...so when does it get boring exactly?
The moment you realize there's only a handful of different missions?
Or when you realize that there's only 4 classes and customization is as deep as a puddle?
Or when you notice that you will always face the same enemies?
30 bucks for that game is heavily overpriced.
Where are the achievements?
they named it seed and even put hair on it. Almost too obvious.
Next month
HAZ 2 SHITTERS
It's smarter than throwing away 30 bucks (20 bucks during sale) for a game that gets boring way too fast.
I'd rather have the OP try it out for as cheap as possible. You're the shill here.
These should've been called ebonuts.
I guarantee you're the type of autist that is willing to put thousands of hours into Gary's Mod so you can hear little kids over their microphones. No, Deep Rock is fun and exciting for the first 50 hours. After that it just comes down to whether you just get attached to the themes and gameplay the game has to offer to make you put hundreds in like I have. The best thing Deep Rock has to offer is the fact it is easy and hard at the same time, so you and your pals will find it easy to pick it up and play every few months for 10 or 20 hours, especially to see the new content. Fuck off, pedo.
>Or when you notice that you will always face the same enemies?
???
The enemy variety in this game is fantastic. Name an fps with better enemy variety please.
>Wanted to get this
>All my friends are now normalfags who don't play vidya
>Don't like to befriend autists here because of previous experiences
I wish I could play this game but alas, it isn't for me. I hope all of you enjoy playing it with friends and cherish the good times you share together.
Dude please fuck off and go gargle Bill Gates' nuts.
It's shitty but all of those gamepass players never would have played the game at all if it didn't pop up on there 2.5 years after release. Also the website says it's steam that doesn't support cross platform.
Tried it with my friend and it was boring as hell. Not sure how you autists enjoy this.
You can convince even normies as long as they don't have wives or serious gf-s. After that they are not allowed to have fun
>I wish I could play this game but alas, it isn't for me.
Stop being a faggot. It's fine with randoms.
down below.
>The moment you realize there's only a handful of different missions?
Which is more than majority of all MP games can offer. 7 missions, in roughly a dozen different biomes, with proceduraly generated maps + randomized mutators = near endless replay value, further expanded by the variations your team's composition and loadout brings in.
>Or when you realize that there's only 4 classes
Four PERFECTLY balanced, very varied classes, that make the game tick like a Swiss clock.
>and customization is as deep as a puddle?
There's metric fucktons of customizations to every single thing. All the CoD kids are raving about their AGOC sights and foregrips, but in the end they're doing the exact same task for the 15th year in a row: spraying bullet hoses at each others in static maps, designed for nothing but the run & gun.
>Or when you notice that you will always face the same enemies?
The enemy galore is extremely well done as well, providing much, much more variety than majority of FPS games created since 1990s.
The fact that you don't even consider bringing up the map exploration and survival aspects is enough of a proof to me that you only care about braindead dakka dakka.
I'll play with you user
My steam is Mrs. Hot Dog Water add me so we can dorf
DRG is unironically great with Randoms, no need for voice chat, people are chill and the game is active.
Maybe stop playing on the lowest difficulty
I feel sorry for the "normie" couples.
Me and my wife are the best power duo, and we both always play with some of my old friends whenever possible.
>down below.
You know what I mean. They should be next to your playtime. Just curious.
what region you are in?
Its gameplay isn't very good but the procedurally generated levels appeals to zoomers. Plus it's got Reddit memes.
Are you fucking trolling me? It's literally alien spiders everywhere.
DRG employee detected.
I WILL SAVE user FROM MAKING A MISTAKE AND ALWAYS RECOMMEND TRIAL GAMEPASS AS A MEANS TO DEMO THE GAME BECAUSE HE WILL REALIZE HOW BLAND AND SHALLOW THE GAME IS!
Deal with it.
>Tried it with my friend and it was boring as hell.
So far it has only taken LESS than one game for all of my friends to get absolutely hooked to the game. One of my dudebro family guy pals literally went as far as to buy a cheap gaymin' laptop just to play the game with us, after over a decade of being a console peasant.
>Not sure how you autists enjoy this.
It's the most bromantic co-operation action game that mixes cave exploration, environmental problem solving, rock-hard dwarven attitude, the sad irony of being the lowest cog in a mega-corps system, with some Starship Troopers -tier action.
I don't know what kind of friendless negative-IQ pleb would NOT love the shit out of this.
Y-you never made it past the tutorial, did you user?
>It's gameplay isn't good
Its combat is great, what the fuck are you smoking? You run around constantly to not get slowed and juggle your abilities, grenades and ammo to kill hoards that come at you. What, did you only play on Hazard 2 and not 3, 4 or 5? Fucking green beard.
I just want to talk about a game I like but this thread has turned into a shitshow as usual
1) it's not.
2) we are talking about enemy variety, as in gameplay variety. Not the design.
DRG has a very wide "Possibility Space" when it comes to the enemy galore. Every foe is designed to fill a specific niche, create some kind of reaction and counter-reaction in the players.
The game all seems like wasted potential. A fun gameplay loop but all the surrounding mechanics are garbage.
A really great example of this is the drink system, having drinks provide a per mission buff gives a great opportunity to build your strategy around some kind of buff you take on the mission, or even being able to make consumable drinks with temporary buffs you take with you into the mission.
This could create a gameplay loop similar to monster hunter where you would do certain missions to collect the materials you would need to make a drink that would give you the edge in an otherwise incredibly difficult mission.
They've add drink crafting with a handful of different plant types, and the drinks have different buffs so we're almost there- except that you can't choose which drink to make, the buffs are mostly useless, and only one of the craft reagents is actually used to make the drinks, with the rest just used to unlock cosmetic drinks that literally do nothing in the mission. Ultimately they've done all this work implementing a system that is basically pointless, where if designed slightly differently would have been great and added some depth to otherwise shallow gameplay.
the only honest response. thanks user I will now buy dwarf game.
If I had to guess user, I'd say the person pushing people to buy a microsoft product is almost certainly the shill
It's even fun with randoms. There's chat and voice chat, but nobody uses it since communication can be done through 2 buttons:
>X
"Get over here, I need help"
>V
LITERALLY everything else from surviving a hellish dungeon crawl to accidentally making eye contact.
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
The problem is that you compare DRG with CoD, which is disingenous to say the least.
If you want to make a good PvE focused game like DRG you need to have variety and depth (not just cave depth)...a fuckton of it.
CoD on the other hand is a PvP game, you will always face other players who will always be smarter and better than AI. That's why no match will be ever the same. In DRG every mission plays the same. I guess i'm not autistic enough for the game because i hate repitition.
Where are the MILF oppressor and posh crassus detonator?
Who is your favorite dwarf, user? I main Engineer.
>Its gameplay isn't very good
The gameplay is extremely fun, fast and varied. It has plenty of verticality, something that few modern games even care to implement, and the procedural level generation not only works extremely well to the point of feeling natural, but also keeps the game fresh for years to come.
Combine this with the full environmental destruction, that ties well to the whole mining themes, and you got a game that is a wholesome marriage of its themes and gameplay.
>tfw you use the Fat Boy overclock for the first time
Are you fucking retarded? It's just 1 buck for a fucking trial account which he can cancel right away.
What if he buys the game for 30 bucks and realizes how lame the game is?
There...30 bucks wasted...fucking shill.
I mostly play engineer and gunner. Been messing around with different breach cutter builds lately
Lmao, what an autistic screecher
This game visually looks better than most AAA games despite being 1.5gb of voxelshit and capable of 60fps with integrated graphics. Every developer needs to go back to the drawing board.
I honestly don't like gunner that much. You can either have guns that spin up fast but deal no damage, or deal decent damage but have to wait for 3 seconds before your gun hits peak firing speed.
>That's why no match will be ever the same.
Now THAT is disingenuous as fuck if I ever would say so. As someone who put fuck-tons of hours to both original Counter-Strike and early CoDs, I can with absolute confidence say that you literally do EXACTLY THE SAME SHIT, over and over again. Yeah, someone finds a fancy new tactic to exploit for a brief moment every once in a while, but in the end you do nothing but the same thing: run around in static maps, try to gun down each other with weapons that mostly perform the same, just with slightly different stats.
>In DRG every mission plays the same. I guess i'm not autistic enough for the game because i hate repitition.
No son, you hate "quiet time" and survival aspects. You hate adventure games and brotherhood.
You clearly enjoy PvP, because it's so brain dead and simple. Pick up and play, see magical numbers go up or down.
Nice quads. Same, my two most played are Engie and Gunner. I haven't played the game in a couple months, but I'll be playing with my pals when the Monday Christmas update comes out. Do you solo or you have pals you mine with?
>This game visually looks better than most AAA games despite being 1.5gb of voxelshit and capable of 60fps with integrated graphics. Every developer needs to go back to the drawing board.
Usually runs pretty well, but this latest update my 5700XT has suddenly tanked to 60fps at best. Has anyone else had this happen as well?
