How much did they pay him?
How much did they pay him?
mmm maybe 3 or even 5
he probably made a few million for the VA and mocap but he also probably gets a portion of the game sales
Half the marketing budget which is equal to 4 times the budget of the actual game.
three fiddy
Why? Why not invest that money into making the game better?
6 gorillion
15-20 mil
never forget
because you can make a shit game and make a ton of money from it by having e-celebs and celebs market it for you, it also means your game is immune to criticism by those people
every game that has e-ecelebs or uses an actual celeb to promote it ends up being riddled with lies and is total shit
Everything.
about tree fiddy
according to some leaks they didn't even pay him that much, he was genuinely excited about it.
He made 2 million and split half of it with all the developers and told them they're breathtaking.
I'm convinced that "marketing budgets" are just a money laundering scheme. There's no reason to spend billions of dollars on advertising, especially in today's internet age where all you have to do is post a few trailers on YouTube and/or social media.
Epic bacon keanu volunteers just to make gamers XD
Because CDPR is run by shareholders and they need zoomer memes to hype them up and show the game is LE COOL AND AMAZING instead of making a proper product.
It doesn't yield the same return of investment, not even close.
Too much.
1 Dolar
Well they paid him $1 million but had to pay Big Chungus $10 million. (he is also Big Chungus)
>shareholders
Also the reason it was released in this state in the first place, I think they probably insisted it be released before christmas no matter what
Free marketing, guaranteed consoomer sales.
Yes.
is he a better voice actor than he is an actor?
>hating on Keanu just to be contrarian
Obviously he is a one note actor but great as a person
t. extra and friend of a stuntman
While Keanu Reev-- I mean, "Johnny Silverhand" being in the game is a pretty fun gag, he (and Hollywood celebs in general) completely ruin the immersion in games they are in. Imagine if there had been Sylvester Stallone with Geralt in Witcher 3, nobody could have taken that shit seriously.
CP77 story was basically about Keanu Reeves and it ruined it for me.
are you retarded?
games at CDPR are funded by investors and shareholders
the money from sales is already gone, investors took their cut. Anything more is dependent on them putting more in to fix it
Everybody in the business/marketing world is crooked, color me surprised.
Marketing budgets are far more important in the internet age than ever before.
You need staff multiple PR companies to shill, damage control, and spark conversation on your product. Once started, they'll keep the public's attention on your shit for as long as you pay them. We're talking posts on reddit, facebook, twitter, tik tok, youtube, instagram, and Zig Forums during precision time slots which branch out peak website attention in each major country. A solid contribution will cost you a metric fuck ton, but can instantly land you a prolonged stay on 'trending' or 'first page' results for every social media site and google.
Each company can run tens of thousands of artificial accounts, each with multiple-year-long account creations and seemingly realistic posting histories to add legitimacy to their shilling. They'll manipulate search engine and website focus for best results.
Don't underestimate marketing, user. That shit's real.
t. Marketing shill
Too much. He's an absolute dogshit voice actor. Sean Bean was miles better and probably millions cheaper.
Do you think VA feel like YouTubers do with Hollywood celebs muscling in on their turf?
No because VAs fucked themselves already in the states with the union special club bullshit. More often than not they make it harder to work with them.
>Do you think VA feel like YouTubers do with Hollywood celebs muscling in on their turf?
Not really. VAs are already kind of celebs in their own circles. It's why the same few dozen people voice literally everything. If you're not an already established talent in the field, you're kind of fucked getting in.
