I really need aesthetic to balance out my diamond but I cant be bothered to put effort into it so it'll probably stay lopsided.
How long does it take to get ducks?

You can get them around mid game I think

Just got my copy for the Switch.
What are the dos and don'ts for farming and combat?

Just play, itll teach you as you go along

Talk to Tauemon a lot, read your scrolls.
Fertilize as often as possible, but early on it might be once or twice a month.
Remember to process your food every night when you get the ability.
Learn the skills available to you.
First 2 years are capped at 10 Rice, it doesnt mean you're doing bad. You get story reasons for it to go up later.
Learn your raiment. It's your primary dodge, though you can parry by hitting the raiment buton or pressing forward with good timing. Double tap forward to dash.
Crashing (knocking enemies into other enemies) does huge damage. Get good at it.

There's no time limit. So don't feel rushed.
The game tries to put you in Sakuna and the others shoes. There's a lot of information at first since, well, you're growing rice, but you're not expected to figure it all out in your first year, or even first 3. You learn with Sakuna and the others at a pretty relaxed pace. As you learn, more methods of farming well open up, as so more possible problems to keep an eye on.
When you're stuck, the way forward is either farming more rice to get more stats, progressing further in the story or exploration points, or talking to people around the farm. Don't ignore your npcs.

Have fun and take it easy.
Maybe read some of the older archived threads if you get lonely. They were really good but they're pretty slow now.

It's more fun if you don't go in with too many spoilers on how farming works, I'll just say that try to not miss any of the important status windows. When you add base components to fertilizer you can add secondary components for more stat gains if you open the window again, and if you go to check on your rice as it's going to get a menu with multiple pages that can show you the exact status of your rice. You'll figure out how to deal with all the inevitable problems you'll see in there as the game progresses.

Also you should check around home regularly, there's collectibles that spawn in all the time and there are a great many cutscenes and story content that are triggered by simply entering a room at a certain time of day or talking to an NPC under certain conditions.

As for the combat there isn't a too much to say that you won't figure out on your own. Sakuna is actually kind of a grappler and your divine raiment grabs cause huge damage, especially to bosses that spawn adds. You should always be trying to stagger enemies so you can throw them around into other enemies. It's also an action RPG with a pretty heavy lean on RPG, so if you find yourself unable to beat a fight then you might just be too weak and need to grow more rice before you come back.

I got ducks around chapter 4 so shouldnt be any later than that, just send out Kaimaru

Sakuna has cute legs.
Clothing, bare, clothing, bare (sometimes sandals). What are the cloth wrappings for anyway?
Wouldn't they get soggy and uncomfortable working in a rice paddy? Or was it common for cold weather and water?

Has anyone figured out exactly which areas give what animals yet? It would be really convenient if each colour of cat and dog was specific to a single area or something.

is still the most complete version I ever saw posted in the threads.
I thought the colors might be random. Was everyones second dog a pure white one?

switch or PC? also has the dev made other games before

PC. Switch only if you want to play portable ever. It's been slow to get updaes. FPS and Resolution arent as good as PC (provided you have a decent PC).

Yes, Edelweiss has been around for around a decade. All their games are much much smaller than this though. Beat'em ups and Shoot'em ups mostly. PC doujin circle/dev.
Ether Vapor is very fun imo. Freesia is somewhat related to Sakuna in terms of combat engine/design and slightly lorewise but Sakuna is by far their most competant and full complete game.

>4th harvest
>got around 109 rice, so much I wasn't even sure what to do with it all
Finally some main dishes.

But I've got every type of disease sneaking up on me. Feel like I need to sort the seeds only I have no fucking idea where or when I do it? In fall or winter? I've been looking in the storehouse and can't find the option

After you've done a max size harvest for the first time (500 sprouts) Tauemon opens up the option to let you sort and sow the rice yourself to chose how much you want to grow before the the start of the next season.

Sorting comes after hulling and before planting in the seed box.
You just need to keep playing until you unlock it in a cutscene with Tauemon. Can't remember if it's auomatic or if you need to check with him, but you should be talking to him a lot just incase anyway.
I imagine it's close if you're at year 4, though.

Oh, I didn't know it was based on hitting 500 sprouts. Regarding salt, then, has anyone nailed down a number on how much you need in your inventory to unlock salt sorting? I heard people say 20, but I seemed to always use mine up so fast I always had only around 5 every time I checked during preservaion...

Tried my best against the extremely shitty weather this year. Now only my Stickiness is lagging behind which I assume will improve with Heartiness focused harvest then. Give me some tips, Gustobros.

it's 15-20, I'm not certain myself.

I find it weird that the cutscene tries to tell you to not waste salt, but salt sorting doesn't seem to actually use your salt.

Really, I'm glad.
I initially pictured that happening and I freaked out because of how big the pot is, figuring pouring it all would have been like 10 or 20 salted meat-meals worth of it.
Would give you reason to farm it and give you another item thing to collect and pay attention to for harvest time but it would just be too much hassle if it went like in my head. I'd never stop using mud.

>do literally nothing whatsoever
>aesthetic is consistently my highest stat every year
>literally use no aesthetic fertilizer and other stuff, it's still like twice as high as my other stats

how to I stop being /fa/ I don't get it I just want the gusto/taste/hardness achievmo

is Damage from Weeds: Large just something we have to deal with in Offshoots? I've never seem to not get it despite how much weed control I do

>use eradicating remedy
>stripe faggots still won't go away

Don't forget drainage bro. If you've tilled and used tea in the fertiliser you shouldn't have weeds.

>tilled: 99%

Welp, just be careful with your fertiliser, might have something to do with water levels too, I don't know.

I just got to the ending and I had to fight my tears while Sakuna walks through the rice fields towards her home while this song plays.

Jesus Christ, I never expected this game to make me feel this way.

How do they farm so much rice if each stalk is 1 grain?
