Why the fuck was this masterpiece forgotten. I wanna talk about FZero damn it. Wipeout dont do it for me, and everything else is too slow.

It's pretty much the only game anyone ever talks about in regards to F-Zero.
I just beat all cups on Master difficulty the other day. The AX cup was suprisingly the easiest for me. I got it on my 1st try, while the other cups took weeks for me to do
AX cup from what I understand isnt too hard since its technically just the arcade tracks, and they dont wanna make arcade tracks impossible to the point that no one bothers paying to play. I've completed story on VH and now I'm about to start trying to unlock the Grand Prix cups, any tips? Which racer to use or anything? I'm assuming the ai on grand prix expert is nothing compared to the story mode ai.
The AX Cup doesn't have any particularly brutal tracks like Mute City Serial Gaps or Big Blue Ordeal. The other cups all have at least one track where getting above 20th place is basically impossible on Master difficulty.
I don't like it because it does feel like monkey ball and the multiplayer is boring. The extra content is a novelty at best. I'd rather play any other F-zero, they feel far more white knuckle and fun.
If you've finished Story mode on Very Hard, Grand Prix will be a joke to you, even on Master. Just pick a ship you can keep control of at high speeds, as falling off the track during the final race will be maddening - you only start with one extra life on Master.
I dont get a monkey ball feeling from GX, and every other FZero feels too slow in comparison
1080p (or more) 140fps Fzero GX never ever
This is the best racing game I have ever played. I wish there was a remaster with improved multiplayer
Man, getting 1st on MC Serial Gaps for the first time was a rush. I used to dread Sapphire Cup, and now I just have trouble with the first track. Stupid blind cramped turns at the end.
Yeah the story mode ai is bullshitingly impossible. The grand prix ai is much more forgiving, but they're still hard. I used Rainbow Pheonix with max speed settings for all the cups, and as for tips I could give, try to kill your "rival" whenever you can, but don't let it distract you from racing well. If you place low in one race, do NOT give up; keep going. Theres still like a 75% chance youll still win the cup
I'm dreading Serial Gaps because that map just fucks me in the ass everytime. Fuck those icy pads.
Yeah what the hell is up up with BB Drift Highway? No matter what I do, its impossible for me to place in the top 10 on that track, while I can manage to do well on every other track in the game
The ai on the ax courses aren't that great. They're also taken straight from the arcade, so it naturally has wider tracks with more rolm for error. The green plant track is one of my favorites, though. Fuck the outertube course, though. Worst kind of track, and worst track of its kind. The narrow end and dive is the only fun part.
There is no extra content in F-Zero GX, what are you talking about? There's cups, tracks, and staff ghosts.
Can't you achieve that on dolphin?
>I dont get a monkey ball feeling from GX
The physics feel very similar once you get up in the air or when you bonk into walls. Personally, I don't really like how awkward the controls get in comparison to X when going off ramps, where you can fly around pretty freely if you steer things around right.
Guess GX is a lot more realistic and has some weight to it, but it also feels very limiting.
This game might be the best $0 I've ever spent on a video game. It's nothing like F-Zero though.
What I do is I pick a fast ship and for that track set it to max acceleration. Then when I get to the jump plates, I boost and do a quick turn or two and end up skipping the ice and I'm right in front of the boost pads. I know there's a bigger skip, but it's really complicated and not reliable even for many experts. Which isn't great when you only have one extra life to spare.
Drift Highway is one of the few tracks in the game that actually features difficult turns. Most tracks just use shallow wide bends and basic right-angle corners, whereas Drift Highway, Phantom Road and Sand Ocean Surface Slide require precise handling around turns that are either very tight or sustained and narrow. The AI can manage it fine but it will result in most players having lower placements on those tracks.
I loved how I could make my own warp speed zamboni death trap once I got finished slaving away at VH mode with Falcon's blue shitbrick
I got filtered hard by that game. Can't even win a single race
>Which isn't great when you only have one extra life to spare.
>Not murdering fucking everyone to get extra lives and keep rivals in check
Get on my level. If I can't get first place, I can at least keep my opponents from getting any points at all.
The game even marks your rival for you. You just gotta get up there and hit them with one or two well timed side attacks.
>YUU WANTA NEW EFFU ZERO? WHY AREN'T YUU HAPPY WITH MARIO KARTU TORAKKU ANDU BURU FARUKON KARTU?
Falcons machine is great, it's just that you can do so much more with other racers. I wouldnt call the blue falcon bad though.
Sideswiping another racer at a million miles an hour and watching their machine violently pinball off the walls is so satisfying
I used to be like you and only completed normal mode on story. Now I have beaten VH and am a Chad. Dont give up user
Try it again.
I got it for free too. If you turn floor hugger mode on and disable the items then you can get a surprisingly close to fzero feel, especially on a bunch of the workshop tracks.

Black Shadow's voice didn't fit at all and Captain Falcon sounded like someone doing a bad Batman impression
Post mains and favorite tracks
I spent weeks trying to unlock this British motherfucker and damn it was worth it. Casino Palace Double Branches is the most fun track in the game imo. I love how every time, without fail, Black Shadow always fall off and dies at that one part. Its so hilarious
what game is this?
That's a neat idea, but if I wanna play something like F-Zero, I'll just play F-Zero.
One of the reasons I love BNG is because you're not glued to the track. That sensation of flying above the ground rather than hovering close to it is what I love. Having to take pitch into account to not bounce too much and lose speed is a very underlooked aspect of the Wipeout games.
Machines have a nice weight to them, but ironically it also feels weightless. It's really unique and hard to explain in words, but if you've played it enough you can feel it.
Yeah, wasn't it great?
DEAR NINTENDO
Yeah I like pitch control too
The improved resolution, yes.
I don't know if the fps increase works
But the dolphin version still has the mediocre local multiplayer
