I miss the tribal aesthetic of the older games, the HUD in World and specially Rise is pretty nice and clean, but feels kinda futuristic for a game about beating animals to death with rocks and pointy sticks

i miss tri so fucking much man. Series peaked creatively in Tri imo, peaked mechanically in 4u and maintained that same energy but made it a little more intense, and then Gen started the decline with the retarded OP instadodge bullshit that led to the terrible monster design we have today.

if you enjoy world, buy iceborne if you didn't already, adds way more content.

World's HUD was far worse, at least Rise has things like the map drawn with an old Japanese style.

nope. world is fucking baby mode too. the clutch claw means the monster is constantly fucking knocked down, and mantles guarantee that you can get hit constantly with no issue. half the weapons have counters. it is extremely easy to gem in defensive skills. it's fucking baby mode.

All the portable MHs were designet to be played on the go and none of them were this casual

Anyone else hate how Rise has all of this garbage on the screen? Not only is the HUD big and ugly, but every single god forsaken attack sprays out 4 billion particles, with the "dust" effect, "spark" effect, blood effect, and the number, plus the blue background that backs every number, plus any particles if you use a silkworm.
