When gaming hit mainstream, political agitators realized they could tap in to this new medium which was largely comprised of a younger generation in its formative years to push an agenda. All sorts of money was sank into video games and tech at that point to politicize things on a group most vulnerable because it's an exceedingly effective tactic and there was zero pushback expected -- parents never really monitor what their kids are playing or doing, so the propaganda would largely go unnoticed.

I think Zig Forums is a wrench in the plans of those who have these agendas, and I don't even think Zig Forums as a whole even disagrees with the shit they push (Though I certainly do), it's just that their agendas are so heavy handed that they're actually ruining video games. The political message has taken front and center in a game before the actual game, and the quality of video games has suffered because of it.

Politics are the sole reason anyone even talks about gayshit because they sure as hell wouldn't otherwise.
