Is Metroid officially a dead franchise?
Joseph Richardson
Brody Jenkins
yes
/kill
Jordan King
It's still got more life to it than F-Zero.
John Ross
Yes its been a dead franchise.
Nintendo will eventually put in the trash along with F-Zero, Star Fox and many other of their previous space franchises.
Nintendo cares about Mario and Mario Galaxy and so forth.
Hudson Wood
The 2D main series games exist, user.
Thomas Morgan
Nintendo fans seem to think Meteoid is a bigger franchise than it really is. There was an eight year gap between super and fusion. Super didn't even sell that well. Nobody cared about metroid until prime came out.
Elijah Edwards
This,
Metroid dead
Camden Ward
Based and true. Especially with Mario.
Aaron Thomas
it desperately needs someone with a new vision to take the helm, even if a new game comes out if it's just doing the same motions of the last 4 games I'm not going to be very excited.
Robert Gonzalez
This is unfortunately true. Hell, Animal Crossing New Horizons alone has outsold the entirety of the Metroid series.
Thomas Sanders
While Metroid isn't as big as some fans think, don't try to use the gap between Metroid 3 and 4 as an excuse. Super Metroid was originally the end of the series the last game so technically it would take some time to get some ideas for a sequel, from there it because the hardware itself, there wasn't a right hardware for Metroid 4 until the GBA was created. Shows what you know you chronic shitposter.
Jaxson Rivera
>girl halo
who cares
Anthony Hill
True
Also to the faggot above me. Metroid predated Halo. Please go back to school you retarded zoomer.
Blake Wright
He's wrong, only Prime 1 sold close to 3 million and Prime games after failed to outsell Metroid's 1-4 of the 2D games. Normies never cared about Metroid period and after experiencing Metroid Prime, none of them wanted to return for the sequels. He left that part out along with not knowing jackshit about 2D Metroid development.
Dylan Turner

Nintendo should sell Metroid to a western studio. I unironically think Destiny and Borderlands are better Metroid games than anything Nintendo could shit out.
Levi Smith
He's obviously talking in terms of getting new shit. F-Zero games still exist but it's a dead IP because it hasn't gotten a game in nearly two decades. It's also clear, at least as of right now and in the recent past, that Nintendo doesn't give much of a shit about Metroid.
Landon Campbell
Parker Garcia
everything nintendo is a dead franchise
Juan Edwards
>Destiny and Borderlands are better Metroid games than anything Nintendo could shit out.
>Destiny.
>Borderlands.
Don't make slap the ever loving hell out of you fool...
Landon Martin
They give a shit about Metroid, just not the Prime one.
Henry Stewart
So I guess people just forgot about the 3DS game that came out 2 years ago huh?
Fucking donkey kong is more dead than Metroid at this point, and yet metroid fans continue to whine about nothing. Get over yourselves. At least you have 2 games in development that will eventually come out.
Chase Barnes
I would gun your ass down if it was legal.
Ian Cooper
Nu-Metroid is dead, yes. Real Metroid is doing just fine.
Jace Lewis
>Borderlands and Destiny
>"Metroid games"
Is this how westerners see the world?
Lucas Reed
It's the Prime fanbase that's whining, they always do.
Nathaniel Jones
Honestly, your linked post is so stupid I find it hard to believe it wasn't a shit post.
Charles Green
Only North Americans. And only the ones that live in Central North America.
They're typically called United Statesians. Canada and Mexico try not to associate with them very much, but often get lumped into the same basket as "Americans" anyway.
Ryan Cox
Don't care as long as I have this
Carter Johnson
No, unlike F-Zero, Advance Wars and Custom Robo, Metroid has a game in development. Until Nintendo officially cancels it, Metroid still has a pulse.
Samuel Clark
This
Nicholas Perez
Oh Hell No!
Don't associate that retard with us!
Parker Moore
Metroid wasn't as big as Mario or Zelda, or as popular, but it was considered a staple of Nintendo franchises back in the day. I've heard of Metroid back when I was a kid, just wasn't entirely sure what it was until I read more about it
Connor Turner
No. Metroid is not a dead franchise. Metroid: Samus Returns came out in 2017, and Metroid Prime 4 is confirmed to still be in development. Very much alive, just hibernating until MP4.
Same can be said for Star Fox. Last game in 2016, but has had a plenty of bones thrown its way, just hasn't gotten a new game. Maybe in the next year or so, we'll see Zero ported, or maybe a launch title for Switch 2.
Mason Wood
>Samus Returns came out not too long ago
>Sakamoto practically confirmed another 2D Metroid in development through interviews
>Nintendo rebooted Prime 4's development because they wanted to deliver a good product
"Ugh why does Nintendo hate us so much this series is so dead :((((((("
God Metroid fags are such whiny bitches. Let alone that the indie market is absoultely saturated with metroidvania games if you really want to scratch that itch. What do F-Zero fans have? Fucking wipe out?
