i made a blaster using jedi but didnt get past the first jedi level because i got bored. in theory the build could be good. get max rank of smuggler sneak attack then get caster jedi for CC and CC everything for sneak attack perk. how reliable is CC in endgame though?

Stealth is useful exactly once in these games, during the end of Dxun when you reach the sith base. You can send someone in to disable the turrets and the droids.

Played through all of Jedi Knight series and thought about playing KOTOR 1 again. Is it a pain to get running on current hardware or is it just more config file editing bs?

Both are pretty iffy but 2 is a much better port than one. Save often though, there's a common bug that causes dialogue to automatically skip, and can only be fixed by closing the game and opening it again.
