It's fun.

It's pretty fun
The first optional mob is actually hard because you have no idea what you're doing and single-handedly makes people call it "souls like", but it really isnt.
All stormtroopers are jobbers and you rarely fight force users.

If you're on PC, get the lightsaber colour correction mods. Yes it's fun

It's enjoyable but very easy even on the hardest difficulty. Also it's more like a metroid prime with souls style combat considering how the maps are laid out and all the extra areas locked behind powers and movement upgrades. Probably the best star wars game in a decade though.

If this was considered a Souls game, it would probably be the easiest, even on the hardest difficulty, Grand Master. But yes, it is still fun.

Yes and yes, it's kinda buggy and lame though. Cuase Star Wars and EA - it's truly an accident that this game isn't total trash.

I loved it. Combat is easier than souls but still fun, the environments are incredible, the story is pretty good, and it genuinely feels like Star Wars. The only downside for me was the exploration. Getting ponchos and lightsaber parts was a little underwhelming.

Literally every fucking thing that comes out now is souls-like according to retarded game journos.

Pokemon Sword is more fun than this crap. Its not even a decent lightsaber simulator.
>Star Wars and EA - it's truly an accident that this game isn't total trash.
Should be their new slogan.

It's closer to Sekiro, and yeah, it's fun.

Yes and yes.

It has the campfire mechanic but more uncharted star wars edition. And yea its not bad, weird as that is to say about an EA game.

gameplay not bad
story awful

>Star Wars and EA - it's truly an accident that this game isn't total trash.
>Should be their new slogan.
It really should be. I went for over a decade not buying any EA games, not out of spite, but just that none really looked good.

I've bought a few recently that are actually good so far, this being one. Its nothing ground breaking, they aren't making gaming history or doing something new. But they did manage to take some of gaming's current trends and assemble something that actually is a decent game. Never thought I would say that of them again. I sort of thought they would just keep failing so hard over time they would eventually only make sports titles since that genre has no standards. But hey happy to wrong and have a game to play.

In terms of exploration it's a metroidvania, but the combat and enemy placements are fairly souls-esque.

Yes, but it's lacking in some departments
Definietly don't buy at full price

what I played of it reminded me more of Prince of Persia

>Is this actually a soulslike?
Very superficially. Just like NuGoW.

>Also it's more like a metroid prime
Only 95% of the shit you find is useless. They built great areas, why the fuck did they fill those with useless cosmetics and called it a day? And even as cosmetics they all suck. Great fucking incentive to explore.

it's like sekiro. you have to put it on the hardest difficulty for the sekrio elements to come into play and matter; anything less and the game becomes r1 to win. it's not as good as sekiro but it is fun.
if you enjoyed sekiro you should get this game.

>Is it a souls-like?
Not really, no. It borrowed maybe 2-3 mechanics from the Souls series but I would hardly call it a Souls-like

>Is it fun?
As a Star Wars autist I had fun with it. Didn't experience any of the crazy bugs most people did since I got it like 5 months after launch.

Almost 0 replayability tho.

Yes.

And it's alright, it doesn't really do anything unique or special. You're honestly better off just playing Sekiro but it's not terrible or anything, just kind of bland.

Yo do more tomb raiding than Tomb Raider's remake

I'm still honestly surprised EA put out a star wars game with zero dlc

decent enough game by itself, nothing groundbreaking.
Also if you like star wars, it's pretty good. Then again managing not to take a giant dump over the franchise is "pretty good" for star wars these days

The story is actually pretty good. It's not great, but its better than the sequel movies, and Attack of the Clones. Yes, that isn't a high bar, but whatever.

It's definitely fun, OP. Not really Souls-ish, though. Just enough Vader, though. Enough that you legit get that 'OH SHIT' feeling when he shows up.

I'm guessing they had to build the game in like 2 years max after EA got shit on hard for MTX and other shit. It's pretty rushed, but I assume they would have put RPG esque stats in the game and stats on the lightsaber parts if they had more time.

main character is aggressively bland though
his jedi master had 10 times the character he did, and that's a posthumous character which shows up for a few flashbacks

How much Clone Wars era stuff is there in the game?

The transition from Republic to Empire is super interesting but most media seems to immediately jump right to Stormtroopers and Tie Fighters immediately after RotS when Clones and grey V-Wings and shit would be far more interesting.

Its pretty souls like, however most of the enemies you will encounter are very easy. There are alot of secret bosses that are hard as shit to fight

Looks like it has token characters out the ass. I guess it has to, given that they actually made a game with a white, male protagonist for once.

the starter planet is a giant disassembly yard where CIS ships are being stripped for parts
plenty of other clone-wars throw backs around

sousllike isn't based on difficulty it's based on 3rd person RPGs with souls-like mechanics (bonfires, exploration)

There are flashbacks to the Clone Wars, specifically Order 66

On some planets there are leftover scraps from the clone wars, like deactivated droids, dead clones, helmets, ships, etc.

not really, there's 5 notable humans and 3 of them are white
and the characters don't feel like tokens, they're just star wars humans

In what sense? The bad guy is a girl pajeet but she's basically your standard star wars villain just with brown skin. The black chick is an uggo but she's basically just the cold mentor archetype and doesn't run around going ooga booga.

there were some folks who completely misunderstood the ending of the game and think that what she did was "empowering", instead of a major failure on her part

>In what sense?
You just described it. Black mentor woman and dark female villain. Pretty damn insane.

Yeah, it's a fun soulslike.

It's pretty good. But not as good as Dark Souls and frankly inferior to Sekiro

Still enjoyed it a lot, especially the exploration.

pajeets are hardly a "token minority" representation
they don't count as an actual "minority" for sjw's because they actually do their jobs and don't have shitty lives as a result

Sounds super cool. Maybe I'll pick it up for like ten bucks or something eventually.

Why were Ahsoka-loyal troopers with Cal?

I just finished it last week ( now moved onto RDR 2)

It's only okay. The game play isn't that great and the story is pretty bad. Ultimately not that great

There are a lot of ruins/scraps of the clone wars jedi starfighters and other ships, memorials to the fallen clones and even some dead ones still drifting in the water. You can also hear the echoes of the past to hear stuff from that time, as well as flashbacks.
Not even mentioning the first time the game does the "pan the camera and show the cool shit" to show a whole display of republic starships and walkers getting scrapped.

I've just started playing yesterday and so far I'm having fun. Also, I've never played a soulslike

The hero is a white guy fighting two main female bad guys, one of which is brown, and one old white guy. It's a net gain for white people even if you get icky feelings at seeing brown people.

Sure, they do. They always whine about not being represented, or being represented as a stereotype. Look at what happened to Apu from The Simpsons.
Also, she's female. You wouldn't have a female villain outside of tokenism. I guess we've gotten to the point where the kids have grown up with this shit and it's just become the norm by now, so people don't notice.

Metroidvania?
Fucking sold

Its on Game Pass through EA play

Are you retarded? There were quite a few female villains back in the day when things were based and not "token."
