it's too easy.
yep also a perfect reason why gameplay matters more than stories to be fun
Shame about the story. Could've had a great twist involving the Kiefer-Hayter drama. Also, gameplay-wise, I feel like the enemy escalation could've gone further. Mid-game they feel like real threats again, then late-game they're just armored up dummies again.
No.
The gameplay is broken where you can just leap frog everywhere and no-one will see you, CQC has been reduced to a grab and QTEs, a far cry from what MGS4 offered, the level design (which is part of gameplay) is utter trash and a downgrade from its own demo and the gameplay loop consists on grinding resources to finance guns that will develop on real life timers only to then also make you pay if you want to keep using that gun
The game is not perfect, you just have no standards
The escalation was honestly the most notable thing about the game even if at the end of the day it was fairly basic. It got a smile out of me to have a claymore blow up on me during my crawling into an outpost at night, but things like gaurds getting helmets ended up not doing much. Most of the outposts are so small it's trivial (and better since they won't get up on their own) to just hold them up instead
timed item development sucks ass
the level design sucks ass
the game plays a bit too easy
not being able to switch camos on the fly sucks ass
level design sucks ass
no stamina no nothing, it sucks ass
man I miss mgs 3
It’s a shame all the boss fights suck
wrong :)
>no stamina no nothing, it sucks ass
>man I miss mgs 3
Just play MGSurvive lol
Sorry, but no it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic fucking game by all rights, but the second chapter was absolute dog shit and it shows how rushed it was, Gameplay was repetitive as fuck after a certain point and that problem was only made worse by their retarded fucking crafting timers. I'm not trying to pay the price of a full game that has shitty tacked on ideas from mobile garbage.
>a far cry from what MGS4 offered,
based retarded bait poster
It doesn't help that the sneaking suit is pretty much the go to once you get it, it's quieter and decent camouflage at night, and during the day the basic tranq pistol is so accurate you may as well just headshot them from afar.
Dude, this game is one of the only "fun" games to release in recent memory other than a handful of smaller budget games. (Yes there are many games people consider fun like crash, mario, zelda, cod, tes n fallout, red dead n gta, slavjank, cyberdump, elite, arma, etc) So for you to completely shit on my mans here for baiting us with a true statement on a Ax3 game is pretty fucked up. The game has many options n routes to utilize, theoretically limitless.
>tldr: gud fun game
Not perfect but pretty good.
Ground Zeroes gameplay was perfect. MGSV needed to be just Ground Zeroes with more maps and missions.
that's not Death Stranding
Nah
abloo abloo abloo
Prove me wrong, then.
MGS4 allows you to grab, change to standing, crouching and lying down while holding the guard, allows you to use the guard as a shield while you shoot or use the SOP plug to see the enemy's location and, furthermore, if you press the grab button at the right time while you're grabbing the enemy you'll automatically disarm them. I don't remember if MGS5 allowed you to shake down held up enemies so I can't comment on that front but MGS4 not only allowed you to fully shake down a guard through timed presses to get you to pay attention and you could cancel the animation at any point if you needed to, whether for a quick knockout, holding up someone else or whatever.
Tell me why I'm wrong, TPP babies
MGSV threads are peak clownworld, you just know everyone here has more than 100 hours on it that they enjoyed but they will INSIST its not a good game because its flawed in a way they cant get over
And I'm glad that you get to have fun with the game, but to see the game constantly paraded as having "perfect" gameplay and a masterpiece when it isn't is very tiresome
yes but i miss the old 1vs1 boss fights with the foxhound unit or the cobra unit.
>that they enjoyed
And just like that we devolve to the age old "How do you know the game is trash if you haven't played it? Oh, so you played it? Then why did you play the game so much if you know it's trash?"
Come on now
based retard
I dunno man, having to grab guys to kill them was annoying, the game would be so much better with a button that allowed you to kill a guard without grabbing them. I already have all the info I can get from the guy's in the area, and theirs no reason for me to knock him out, shooting the guy with a silenced weapon was just way easier. I also thought it got waaaay to easy around halfway through, I had to stop myself from using the tranq gun, and even then I handicapped myself further by not using my primary and only using a unsilenced pistol, and even that was too easy so I stopped bringing weapons and items all togather (no magazine as well) and having to get my weapons off guards and from the outposts. Made the experience much better.
I loved MGS4's core gameplay, but the game's way too short so the opportunities to change up your playstyle are few and far between.
nah you're just bad at the game
Riling people up is all nice and dandy but I honestly want you people to actually make an argument as to why your unfinished game is perfect
cry harder lmao
Second best Metal Gear in terms of both story and gameplay.
There is no story.
okay
Is Demon Edition still coming?
False.
You can disarm enemies in V with cqc. I admit that less choking options is lame.
Yes, it'll come along with the cutscene of Arsenal Gear crashing into the twin towers.
Absolutely. MGS4 builds a solid foundation and then pretty much wastes it. Only the first two acts of the game really give you situations where you can play around in and then you're given an act long escort quest followed by that bike chase, then Shadow Moses but it's only dwarf gekkos and Act 5 is so short in terms of the stealth section it's barely worth mentioning.
It's a real shame, honestly, it's got so much potential buried in there. Like the emotion system, the game builds it up with the lackluster B&Bs and several mentions here and there of emotions being regulated by nanomachines and that's pretty much it until you get the emotion magazine and ammo, which aren't really all that interesting to use. I guess the most remarkable effect is Laugh making enemies shoot each other, but that kind of goes against the usual Metal Gear gameplay.
yeah gameplay is great, graphics and optimization are also great
too bad the story is a mess and so much content was cut, it could've been an all-time classic
>so much content was cut
Not really, just the Battle Gear, Chico and Episode 51.
Don't tell me you believe more than half the story missions being filler was part of the intended design.
There's clearly more missing there.
Not an argument
Not really, every single mission has elements that tie to the main plot (except the two missions where it's pretty much you running around destroying a vehicle column), the thing about them is that they rely on listening to conversations, intel and extracting the right people.
There's a video series that explains in depth what's happening in these.

>tranq and fluton everything: the game
come on now
Play it on the hardest setting. All that "filler" becomes a game. Otherwise stay filtered and blue pilled.
Repeated story missions are there to cement Venom's position as an unreliable narrator as it shows he can remember the same events in completely different ways.
that's not the optimal way to play the game though
No one fucking cares. The world wanted Big Boss' breaking bad story. He did that Raiden switcheroo shit AGAIN and then proceeded to not even finish his massive fuck up because he spent the entire budget and 5 years motion capturing some e-thot's fucking feet. NONE of his fans gave a single sliver of a fuck about the gameplay.
