Honestly i'm starting to get to the point I don't care anymore about spoilers, I just wanna ask. Is there a point in the game I finally rid myself of Johnny Silverhand and go back to being my own character? 20 hours in so far since i've been doing sidequests.

Please elaborate further, is there at all a point Silverhand is out of my mind and i'm basically okay or is V forever doomed no matter what? Do choices you make earlier in the game affect the outcome drastically or is it something stupid like LiS where you just pick your ending between 2-4 options? Also fucking lame there's no post game free roam, even fucking GTA V had that after you killed the characters. I know it isn't really supposed to be like GTA but it's a small comparison.
