Is this a good videogame?

Ninja Saviors Return>SoR4>MRB>>FnR

I literally could not get into Fight N' Rage for some reason. The aesthetic felt lacking, enemies never really felt fun to fight, and doing combos didn't feel particularly engaging. I think the biggest offense though are the lack of set pieces. I've always enjoyed seeing where a beat 'em up takes me and what kind of crazy shit goes down, and nothing in Fight N' Rage really got me pumped.

Literally my favorite beat em up of all time. I've always hated games in the genre that have super moves that just eat health just to get you to pump more quarters into the machine. SoR4 is ingenious for letting special moves inflict chip damage on you, but lets you regain health if you can lands regular hits on enemies

It's *good*, but also far more frustrating than it needs to be. juggling and comboing enemies feels phenomenal, but rather than make the game meaningfully difficult with it, they relegate any challenge into repetitive full-stage-combo-chasing autism. hitboxes being finicky doesn't help.
also fuck the PC leaderboards for being full of hackers.

if we are talking beat em ups double dragon neon is really fucking fun and it will be released on switch soon, i really wish it hadn't flopped so i could get a sequel

Great, one of the best games of the year. Shame that SoR4 Max and Shiva arent playable. And inb4 "Estel" she became a fan favorite later

I've been playing SoR2 and 3 before getting to SoR4 and last thing I heard about the game was that Axel was supposed to get buffed with an upcoming patch. Has it dropped yet?

Have you been using the Bare Knuckle 3 translation? The official western Streets of Rage 3 is fucked.

It's as good as a modern SoR could be. It isn't perfect, and the amount of superarmor in a few areas is a bit annoying, but it's pretty good to play. The music will grow on you, and the base characters all play differently (though the unlockables kind of blur together). It has some good difficulty levels, though after you get pretty good at the game, there are only a handful of spots which are super dangerous due to specific enemy-type spam. It's a worthy entry to the series.

Yeah, I played the Western version of SoR3 and immediately patched it to be the JPN version. Had a good time though I didn't like the music as much as SoR2 or 1's OST.
