i dont like this *thing*-punk trend where there's no actual punk going on. CP2077 or movies like robocop or books like neuromancer are cyberpunk because they're clearly cyber and dealing with seedy criminal punk elements (CP2077 being the most punk).
'steampunk' on the other hand isnt punk at all its 'what if more advanced tech had steam tech aesthetic' mostly.
it should be called steamcore or steam scifi or some shit like that not punk.

well desu, nowadays X-punk took more or less the road of becoming synonym with the aesthetic of the said universe. you can X-punk basically anything as long as you put the effort into creating a world. the og meaning is losing ground fast.
