That's not XIII though.

More like the best, faggot.

you need to play more final fantasy

That's putting it lightly. It ranks as one of the worst JRPGs ever made, especially with the version you posted.

That's not 8

Never played it. What do you actually do in that game that makes people so upset? I've only heard "it's a single player MMO" for the last 15 years.

Could've been amazing. Even ignoring the divisive gameplay the story needed a few more drafts. It's a gorgeous game though.

They were just butthurt that it didn't have the ATB system anymore. The gameplay is solid, it really is.

It has a gambit system where you can program your character behavior, idiots call it the game playing it self. You can turn it off or customize it. It basicly is a single player mmo.

I just beat this the other day and its really a sad case of missed potential. I guess the dude directing it (guy who did tactics and vagrant story) peaced out before it was done and you can really tell because the story starts pretty strong and just shits the bed. Vaan didnt even need to be in the story, the combat system needed a lot of work also.
I will say that the setting and environments are really cool and I love the art style and overall aesthetic.

It weeded out the brainlets

...by people who think "2006 was a long time ago."

my favorite FF

I played the original version for several hours. I'm at the clean ship area after that dungeon with Vayne's brother. If I'm not gripped by the game at this point, is there a point in continuing this playthrough or have I not reached a substantial part of the game yet?

Once sakaguchi left in 2003, alot of the staff that was working in XII left with sakaguchi and Matsuno who was really close with him got upset with the company, refused to show up at work because of it.

XII Story is pretty much barebones, incomplete.

Until 13 and 15 came out.

That would be III

Really? That's some powerful friendship to potentially ruin your own career over Sakaguchi leaving.

Right it seemed to be mostly because of the enix merger and their desire to make more derivative sequels. I read somewhere that the delay of X made their stock go down which put a lot of strain on everyone within the company. Its sad because XII had so much potential imo, and I like how unique it feels within the franchise. I just wish it felt more fully realized.

X-2 was honestly much worse. I could not get myself to care about the new characters or their problems, at all.

>mfw someone hates FF12
That's still pretty early in the game, what got me through that was going for hunt marks and stumbling onto Andramalech. My advice is keep trying but if you still aren't interested by everything that goes on between Ozome Plains through Paranima Rift, then yeah you can peace out.

Oh i 100% agree with you. I think XII had potential to be the best FF. The first 10 hours really gets you hooked in it by the amazing writing and overall presentation.

>RTWP

It's shit but FF9 is worse

The player character is irellevent and shoehorned into the story for bullshit reasons when you could remove him and penelo and the story would be LITERALLY THE SAME. Balthier and Ashe are the main characters.

I've been a fan of the content he's directed for XIV, you can tell he still really cares about Ivalice and FF despite not working for the company anymore. Its a pipedream to expect a ivalice game now, but maybe it could happen.

It’s my favourite.:.

That's not XV tho
