I've been this way since as far as I can remember.
It's basically my only interest/hobby.
It sucks to have a hobby like this being pretty poor.
I've had to save and wait and wait, but I finally have something I'm proud of.
It's a 1988 300zx turbo Shiro edition that I've swapped in a RB25DET engine from a Nissan Skyline gts-t along with a few other minor modifications.

Damn. Respect. Almost every Z31 I ever see is a fucking rusting, non-running turd. Looks great, OP. I got a NA Miata that's been sitting in the garage for the last three years because I'm too lazy to work on the brakes and I'm fed up with it breaking down all the time. Now that I got fired I should work on it but ehh... I just play Assetto Corsa in VR instead. I hate myself for letting it sit so long but my garage is also a cramped humid hell, which is further demotivating. Probably why my dad let the Rolls Royce sit in there for 13 years too. I imagine your car is manual? Five speed or six speed? Digital dash or nah? The Z31 was a dream car but since all of them in my area were so far gone or automatic I said fuck it. Wanted a Z32 as well but way overpriced in my area and same situation - all clapped out.

Yeah, mine is a 5-speed. Just the boring analog dash. I've heard the digital ones are pieces of shit though.
I got lucky and got mine from my uncle who bought it new. 70k miles on the chassis, and I kept the VG30 engine. I just couldn't get rid of it for some reason

Like you say it's incredibly expensive and requires a large amount of effort unless you're rich.
It also sucks because most everyone into cars are huge normalfags so good luck finding any friends into the hobby. I've been into cars to some degree all my life but got really into them when I could finally afford my own around 17 and 13 years later I have still never had a real life friend into cars.
