I think you are right in some ways but your view seems a bit extreme, and the kinds of women who are attracted by the behaviour you describe, well a large proportion of them I would guess have issues they need to work out.

I think a lot of guys make the mistake of being too nice- and becoming a doormat or yes man in the process which makes women just lose respect for you. I think subconsciously it might communicate "please don't leave me because I can't get anyone else". if you think or know that you have other options and that you are a catch, you can approach these interactions with women without these concerns and I think on one hand have more authentic interactions, but also communicate to them that you don't actually need them which I think subconsciously makes them think that you are a catch and they should try harder to please/keep you.

I have found that I have had the best results with a mix of being that nice guy, but not being afraid of pushing back or being assertive.
