Honestly lad it's more about the quality of how it's grown. Best way I can explain it is as follows
Say you're having a pint of beer, it's supposed to be 4% alcohol right, that's the equivelant to the say 20% THC potential that a strain has. However, if the beer is watered down and it ends up being actually 20% beer content, the result is shit beer, same goes for weed, so a strain can have a potential 20% THC levels, but if it's poorly grown the actual THC content is far less resulting in shit bud.
