Will people laugh at me if I get dreadlocks?

Well I can answer this since I used to have dreads for around 4 years. I would soak them in warm water and baking soda then rinse and dry them twice a week. Never had any bad smells or mold.

Just got tired of them lol as they get longer the maintenance gets more time consuming

actual loc professionals wont really care from what i know. i personally find loc made with straight hair to look really discussing. like the op guy looks like he collected years worth of my cat's hairball and felted them onto his head.

I don't care if my hair is disgusting and my gf told me she also doesn't have an issue with me getting dreads. Also I work at a job where some black guys have dreads too so I wouldn't be told that it's unprofessional by my boss.
