I gotta fucking agree with this post. I remember the first time I watched the movie Holes with Shia Lebouff, it was so good. And its so rewatchable. I dont own an actual shovel though so I cant do any digging at the moment

have you read the book? movie does a rly good job with the character selection imo

Holes are awesome. I really want to get dirt on my clothes and get tired while digging.

are you planting trees?

I got the book as a gift when I was younger but I never read, I wasnt really into books back then

I'm only wearing shorts. This is the perfect season for it. About 65 Fahrenheit

I already live in the forest

I always would dig big holes in my parents garden after school, lots of fun. Should start again

Do you bury these holes again once your done so animals/people won't fall in them?

What is it with men and digging holes? It seems to be a pretty common thing.

It's getting dark
no
What else am I to do?

>no
That's pretty irresponsible

I think its just basic work and appeals to how men like to work

This tiktok portrays the phenomenon as well. Girls will never be seen doing something like this.

Take notes girls, if you want to attract a lot of boys just go to the beach and dig a hole.

I probably would have loved to have dug some of that hole. But I dont think that its bad that woman might not want to participate in that sort of thing. They have other things that they like to do that are good.

>kids
>boys

women are just cuckolding energy

Don't trespass. Any animal could easily get out.

Any advice for a beginner hole digger? Been wanting to dig a hole in my backyard but i could use some advice on shovels and such.

Every man has at some point in his life dug a hole. Not just a small one, but a fucking big one. Maybe he just wanted to. Maybe he had plans for that hole. Maybe it was for work. When I was a boy, I dug a hole that had to be at least 8 feet deep with my little brother for the sole purpose of using it as a pitfall trap for the local coalburners children.
We put flimsy cardboard over the top, placed a YuGiOh card in the middle, and told him it must be his. He fell in, and my brother and I covered it up with more cardboard and left him there for a while.

Digging a hole attracts people. If you dig a hole people will naturally come up to you and ask what you are doing. And they might even want to join in or keep talking to you

Just get a shovel and start. Trial and error are the best digging lessons. Don't over stress your lower back
I like your post. I once filled a hole with leaves

Also, I've found a round shovel with a 4-5 foot handle works best for my conditions. Entrenching tools are also handy once you've got yourself a trench started

Thanks lads. I appreciate the help. Ill go buy a shovel first thing tomorrow since its getting late and most shops are closed now.

This. I dug a hole in april and accidentally talked another guy (who seemed like he probably lurked Zig Forums) into joining. Long story short it got like 15 feet deep because none of us wanted to be the first guy to talk about stopping.

Im happy for you user.
I dug a hole back in august after a pretty rough breakup. A dude came over and asked if he could help and it turned out his girlfriend cheated on him. Made me realize maybe i wasnt in that bad of a position. Kickass hole though, mustve been 3 m deep

What was it like watching one of Shia's movies with him user?

Some girl in a group chat I'm in went out to dig a hole a few days ago, is this a new thing?

Bear in mind if there are trees around you will run into roots. You can either leave them be or hack through them with a mattock or axe. I would recommend having a mattock if you're dealing with a lot of heavy clay. Remember to let the weight of the tool do the work, you don't need to use much effort beyond making sure it falls in the right place and swinging it back up.

The next phase is gardening btw. If you're going to dig, might as well plant something afterwards.
