Japanese people tend to have pale skin. Anime characters only have colored eyes in anime meant for children. This is because the art style is oftentimes so childish and simplistic that they need a way to make characters stand out for one another, so they'll give them features that the Japanese consider to be abnormal, like pink hair and blue eyes. Anime meant for adults usually draws people with black/brown hair and brown eyes. Japanese people aren't thinking about you when they're making anime.
