It's a time thing, for the longest time "soulsborne" was the term for the souls series and for bloodborne, then a long time after that sekiro came out and had nothing to do with either

I just beat sens fortress some hours ago and then got stuck on these two shitty knights in Anor Londo who keep shooting you with their bows. Its my first souls game and i really enjoy playing it, especially because it often reminds me of Berserk.

I'm playing DS3 atm on NG+ and I just realised it's a cakewalk once you understand the bosses.

I'm currently specced 20END, 16STR, 20DEX and I can't decide on a weapon. I generally like to go as big and heavy as I can with FAP ring and Havel's, but I've never found a weapon I actually like. Generally I go for the balder side sword or black knight halberd, but I would prefer something with reach and a backstab multiplier, if it exists. Any ideas?

It's kinda one or the other on that. Things with reach won't have good critical multipliers, unless you consider a rapier to have "reach."

At your spread you can go either pure dex or quality. You have what I consider the peak amount of strength to access almost all the good dex weapons. But if you go to 27 on strength, it's more quality.

Silver Knight weapons are fun if you haven't used them before. The spear and the straight sword. The SKS is particularly good, qualifies as a meta weapon, and can be part of the most annoying build in the game if you use the flip ring. The SKSS, not so much, but it's still very classy and fun.

If you're more into beafy stuff, maybe try the Murakumo. Another meta weapon but more of an interesting one as more of the moveset is useful. You need at least 20 strength to 2-hand, then most of the scaling comes from dex.

I love the black knight sword, it carried me through 2 playthroughs. BKH is strong as fuck too, but it's a rare drop

ds1 is the most smooth game out of those by far.
it actually has weight and technique too it.
ds3 is spammy weightless garbage and ds2 your hitbox is the size of a barn.

I would consider a rapier to have reach compared with something like an uchigatana. I like to backstab and attack from a long way away. Is Ricards Rapier any good? I keep looking at it and the scaling seems much better than the normal rapier, which is what puts me off a lot of weapons

The real reasons would be
1. Fixed main character instead of a largely anonymous adventurer.
2. Much reduced weapon/armor variety. Forces the use of the sword with other forms of attacks made into sword techniques or prosthetic arm R2s instead of separate weapons. No way to modify yourself into a heavy fighter, or a mage, or a cleric.
3. Most importantly, no online element.

A lot of the rest of the formula is the same, but these are pretty critical elements of story and gameplay.

Not that I don't like Sekiro. I think most of the stuff it got rid of was dead weight and not really necessary for good Souls games. I'd love for Elden Ring to be a similar kind of thing with 1 and 3 restored, and 2 added back in a more limited but meaningful way. Basically, I'm in for weapon variety that matters, I don't need two or three versions of a halberd that have the same moveset and basically the same usage. I want one halberd that has noticeably different uses from my basic weapon.

Those two knights are harder than a lot of the bosses in the game.

I don't remember Ricard's ever being that impressive, I hardly ever used thrusting swords aside from the Bestoc when I played, no real reason to. It's still a rapier though, and the R2 is unique if nothing else.

Time your rolls and approach the one on the right. Once you are next to him, the other one can't shoot you. He will then pull out his sword. Easily party him until he dies. If you want, the left one is easier to kill and he has a lot of souls behind him. All you have to do is approach him from the side and he'll kill himself by attacking you and falling off the ledge. It is piss easy
