Why do people put preferred pronouns in their social media profiles ? I cant understand why they do that? Why is it important ?

The company I work for has this company wide directory that is kind of like social media. They wanted to sell it to other companies but no one wanted it so they make us use it. Now there is an option to put your pronouns under your name and encouraged you to use it. I have no issuse with people being trans or preferring different pronouns but encouraging me to tell everyone I go by he/his is fucking stupid.

No, the issue is "she/they", vs "she/her" or they/them". Which is it? Pronouns designations usually show subject and object pronouns, not two separate subject pronouns, one of which is usually cis- and one of which is usually something else.

it basically means alternate between the two, if they mean it every sentence or every once in a while, I dont know.
