Whose The Idiot now?

Well I finally gave this a try. I guess you had to be there?

Does anyone listen to this for enjoyment? I couldn't care less about he and Bowie's relationship or Iggy's personal life - I just want to hear something good. This didn't qualify.

* I liked the guitars. Pretty sure Iggy didn't play them though and I don't see a credit for them. So, fuck Iggy?

Iggy's version of China Girl is sincerely one of the best songs ever made

Why is this good? What elements are excellent? When/why should any user try this album?

There's over 40 years of music made since this album. Why is this still a worthwhile selection?

stick your head in a turned on oven and find out autist

His singing wrecked it for me. I heard Bowie's China GIrl version first. Bowie can really sing. I thought Iggy's limitations really showed on that song.

>* I liked the guitars. Pretty sure Iggy didn't play them though and I don't see a credit for them. So, fuck Iggy?
How do you get through life being this fucking lazy?

So, fuck you?

Lmao based

astonishingly based

Don't fuck me - I was right. He didn't play guitars (or any other instrument) on this record. Just sang - all songs co-written with Bowie.

You must realy love his voice - that's about all Iggy even contributed it looks like.

This is sincerely the plebbiest thing I've read in a minute. Or a troll, I'm giving you the escape hatch here.

You mentioned how long ago it was released. Do you not listen to modern music between then and say 2012 or so? Do you not hear it's influence? Every single track on there still sounds great too, unless all you know is like trap and poptimism and soundcloud rap or whatever.

Basado

And the lyrics.

I kinda like the album but have yet to hear a good argument as to why user should like it.

bravo

Not a troll, or lover of those other styles you mentioned. Just didn't get any enjoyment out of the record. Didn't hear a hooks, wasn't struck by singing, lyrics didn't grab me (but they rarely do).

I liked the guitars. But I've already forgotten the album and I just listened to it an hour ago.

I just thought someone would tell me what I missed.

user doesn't have to like it, art is subjective. That's not what OP is arguing though, he's asking why ANYONE should which is pants on head retarded.

I legit don't know why some people, and obviously alot of Zig Forumstants, love this album. I just listened to it in its entirety for the first time, and I wanted to know what I missed before I dismiss this record forever.

You're being filtered by your lack of appreciation for what makes it great. It's not gatekeeping per se or that you need to know like some grand critical theory to appreciate it. It's just historical. You can draw a straight line from this through post punk and dance punk and LCD Soundsystem etc. Iggy got bit hard for years. He's GOAT tier.

good songwriting, good arrangements, good performances, unique sound

I was talking about your autistic "I don't see any credits hurrrrrrrrrr" bullshit.
The fuck you is valid. You earned it.

I was just listening to this today. This album's version of China Girl is superior, and Mass Production is great.

I love older music, and the Stooges I've heard I really like alot.

But as I get older, I seem to care less and less about how influential an album/artist was. I just want to hear it and see if it still sounds good today.

This was just okay to me. Notice I never said it sucks or any other stupid bait. I just didn't get what made it special, esp. if its still a worthwhile listen today.

OP here. Mass Production was my favorite. I do get the atmospherics.

Compare this albums version of China Girl with Bowie's later single:

You can see the artistic edge the album has that makes it unique by just comparing the 1977 version to the more polished and conventional 1983 version. Better to get high to for sure. There's a trippy, druggy edge to the entire album that I really like. Always goes to unexpected places.

thanks OP you just made me relisten to this again

>what happened to OP?
>OD'd on big fat cocks

This Made me laugh so hard
