I like the aggression and energy in plenty of the songs, the topics and rhythm in it is also really good

>I like the aggression and energy in plenty of the songs
There is better and more energy and aggression in metal

>the topics
Seriously?

What topics?

Lil Tyrone talking on a 1 hour album about how many times he fucked yo bitch, killed a bitch nigga, and how much better than you he is?

There is better than that in literally every other genres that's not dance focused and lyrical. Listen to some folk.

>and rhythm
The beats of Hip Hop instrumentals are basic as fuck, and there is not a lot of novelty in the rhythms used, it's always the same old boring kick and snare pattern, the same old 808s, the same old hats, etc.... with the same patterns.

Listen to some Afro-Cuban drumming if you want to hear real good rhythms.

wtf OP

You clearly haven't heard 90s and 00s underground.

Not making rap nowadays is like not making punk in the 70s.
think about it.

I dont like all gay ass rap, especially mumble rap I can only stomach a bit.

I used to listen to a lot of DMX when I was homeless driving around in my car to keep myself amped. It's like the whole world is against him and he praises to fucking jesus to help him out. Then also it's not what's being but how it's said as well. For example Nas is a slick puts shit into words that makes you really feel the shit he said. I regularly regurgitate lines from Ether when trying to overcome shit (I WILL NOT LOSE, etc)

I dunno it's just shit like that bro, tupac also relents a lot of shit in a done sort of attitude, it's a level of cynicism and humor

Wordplay mostly, some of the themes

the production is really drum-heavy and bass-heavy in a way that most other genres aren't. no other genre has bass that hits quite as hard as good hip hop does. no other genre is going to get that involuntary head nod

The aggression expressed in metal is very different from that expressed in rap. Metal is much more theatrical, sinister, and brutal. But rap is more gritty, masculine and relatable.

Male sexuality and drug use are more common themes in our every day lives than dismembering corpses, hailing satan and fantasy themes.

The rhythm of rap is primarily in the vocals. That is it's central feature. The beats are like a rhythm guitar to a lead.

I enjoy both genres, they both have their time and place.

this was a good analysis

>the production is really drum-heavy and bass-heavy in a way that most other genres aren't
What??? Literally just listen to African or Afro-Caribbean Pop music, it's full of drum-heavy and bass-heavy shit. You never listened to Dancehall? Coupé-décalé? Afrobeats?

(btw I have nothing against Hip Hop, I'm not the guy you was responding too)

lmfao

idk it sounds good to me. i like lil uzi vert and juice wrld

This is what I like about the genre

Attached: GZALiquidSwords[1].jpg (316x316, 25.77K)

Juice Wrld mostly makes Pop songs. He rap sometimes but he built most of his career on Pop songs. The only reason he is classified as "Hip Hop & Rap" is because he is part of the "culture" and is a young Black man with colored dreads

a nigger shouting and talking to me

Uzi is based

nah this is trash bro

ok. he can rap tho. i would say both him and uzi are a combination of trap/rap/pop idk

ok it sounds good to me
