First for The Black Album is an underrated cult classic.

while i dig everything the man did in the 80s, i have trouble with the 90s era, i really like The Gold Experience and The Love Symbol, but i have not listen yet to the other stuff that came in the same period, is the rest worth it ?

Also , is his 2000s + 2010s era worth it too ? i liked Musicology

Come is underrated
Emancipation is pretty uneven but has plenty of highlights

haven't listened to that album yet since it's huge but the few tracks I've heard are pretty good ngl

Come is very underrated
Diamonds and Pearls is also great

Regarding the 2000s, Rainbow Children is honestly one of his best. NEWS is worth it if you dig jazz and ambient. 3121 is all around great. Originals is essential.

>1999 on Spotify doesn’t have 1999 fade in to Little Red Corvette
>Only the remastered and deluxe version does
Is there any reason for this? I know “le streaming suks!”. But I consider getting physical if only I wasn’t a budgeted zoomer.

First half of the 90's is good. Chaos and disorder and Emancipation are so-so. You can skip Crystal Ball imo.
Rave un2 is not that good but I really enjoy the Remix version (Rave in2) I think that he improved it overall.
As in 2000's and 10' user mentioned Rainbow Children (awesome) 3121 (really good) also you got MPLsound and Planet Earth both are not great albums but has some fantastic Prince songs (check out Chelsea Rodgers)
After that you got two great albums which are Art Official Age and Hitnrun phase two. Both are really good.

This. It's always been my favorite.

It would be perfect if not for Dead On It

Dead on It is great. Are you mad he made fun of rap?

No, it’s just not very good and it doesn’t go anywhere.

>She said, "Are you gay?"
>Kinda took me by surprise, I didn't know what to do
>I just looked her in her eyes and I said, "no, are you?"

Prince can’t play the flute.

erotic city

Damn.... this hits hard...

He played your dad’s flute pretty nice

I actually like his 90s-2000s and 2010s stuff more than that of the 70s and 80s

Is Prince post-1986 or so genuinely good, or was he just a prior era's version of 'look at how I, a white person, think this black artiste is a genius. aren't you impressed?'

The fun parts are in the inside

White people hated Prince at his peak. They liked Micheal Jackson.
And post-1986 includes Sign "o" the Times and Lovesexy. So yeah.

Why are you bringing non-sensical politics up? It's good shit, specially if you like new jack swing or a more organic r&b sound. He was a music making machine so some albums are bound to be pretty mid.

The Gold Experience, Emancipation, Hit n Run Phase One, Come and Musicology are great. The rest are meh, but you can find a couple gems in there.

There are people who hate 90s prince, and those people are called plebs

Why does it look so much like some sort of place where you could make birthday parties for kids stuck in the 90s lmao

I think Purple Rain is overrated. Not even a top 5 Prince album desu.

Dude has always been tacky as hell, in a good way.

What are your top songs?

For me, it's:

1. Eye Hate U (The Gold Experience)
2. Right Back Here In My Arms (Emancipation)
3. I'm Yours (For You)
4. And God Created Woman (Love Sign Album)
5. Planet Earth (Planet Earth)
6. Ballad of Dorothy Parker (Sign o' the Times)
7. Something in the Water (1999)
8. I Wanna Be Your Lover (Prince)

Purple Rain is one of the greatest albums ever made. If "When Doves Cry" wasn't so over played, it might be THE greatest.

Looks like a mix between Biff Tower from Back to the Future 2 and Floop's castle from Spy Kids lmao

Imagine thinking this

The singles are great, and there are a few standout deep cuts, but I don't think it's as consistent as his other masterpieces and the production style, particularly in the percussion, can get a little monotonous after a few tracks.

>being shorter than 5'5
Lmao people actually listen to this?

In no order:

1. The Beautiful Ones (Purple Rain)
2. Extraloveable 83 (bootleg)
3. Nothing Compares 2 U (Originals)
4. Space (Come)
5. Just My Imagination (Small Club)
6. Controversy (Controversy)
7. Bambi (The Undertaker)
8. Pop Life (Around the World)
9. All The Critics Love U in New York (1999)
10. Under the Cherry Moon (Parade)
