Anarchy.

Three slide guitars and an electric drum kit, nothing else.

Serious answer, I'd put some of these in that category. Kind of dreamy or fuzzed out music with a country or Americana backbone.

John Fahey - Red Cross

whatever the fuck Mark Kozelek is making now.

Swans, unironically. Anything "post" needs to be darker, edgier, longer-format.

This is why I still come here. Thank you fren, thank you.

>darker and edgier
So Gothic Country?

>Swans, unironically. Anything "post" needs to be darker, edgier, longer-format
This is a fat opinion. Post BMI or gtfo

Does anyone have that list of Spotify genres? Like a thousand long?

"Post-X" is in general X but weirder. Still, Swans does have that sound sometimes

Probably true. I guess there's a bunch of names for it. That little particular area of sound. I think the "Gothic" brings up Horror punk or Horror Illy vibes with make up and suspenders and stuff.

Here's this thing I wrote up. I'm high as shit, lol. So it probably doesn't make sense. Ramblings about the Swans, etc

Angels of Light had some interesting songs. At this point Is "the Swans" almost a placeholder for... a direction that few skilled musicians have occupied and even fewer "well"?
>spooky prog cow pun
There is some crossover into slowcore, oh who that fucking guy? It's like a parody, a super hammy Zola Jesus or Moon Hidden Behind the Clouds. I saw it on an old Julie Cruise "my favorite songs" YTplaylist that I'm not even sure exists anymore. It was great though, I wrote a bunch down somewhere.like a hundred individuals songs. Anyways, DarkDarkWoods, a bunch of "Dark folk" and this fucking dude I can't remember.

As to which album, I have no idea. They're all super homoerotic, though. Lol
Michael Gira, that is... Not the guy I can't remember.

Forgive country is like the Sci-Fi ghetto of music. Sadly. There are a few bands /artists in the "neofolk", "experimental folk", "experimental primitive industrial acoustic." Right? or I dunno. All the ones I heard as it's kind of depressing or wearing... the lonesome intensity and darkness. . I like it in bits. As contrast to some song that's light. Light music. Heh. Gothic country, for whatever reason, and to attract a ton of goofy, shtick-y, horrorbilly/cartoonist style and that never basically jam and go nuts or even break the songs down and do long, intense, weird solos. What the fuck do I know though. I'm like a mile wide and inch deep. I like freeform radio. Scrambled /randow contrasts. Poor man's Glassbead game, etc etc. Too ADHD to listen to a whooole album, usually.
