I honestly think he’s got no clue himself as to what he’s trying to say in these reviews. They just seem like verbal diarrhoea to me, like he’s trying to string together criticisms that he thinks will make him sound intelligent regardless of whether they actually makes sense or not. I mean why is he comparing tricot to Fishmans and Cornelius for fucks sake, they have basically nothing in common besides their country of origin, it just feels like an excuse to namedrop some of the only other Japanese acts he’s actually listened to.

I stand by my Dunning-Kruger comment. From these two reviews, I get the impression he thinks he's an expert on music and music criticism, but appears quite clueless about the music he's reviewing. Seems like he spends a lot of time contemplating rym's genre tree and is over-eager to shoehorn everything into neat little categories.

I don't have the link but I'll never forget this one review I read of a rock album. The guy opened with a background description of the band and a generic statement about the album being catchy. After, he began rambling with an oddly pretentious and philosophical tone, then the review randomly spiraled into a rant about how much he hates Trump. The album literally had nothing to do with Trump. I'm not even kidding. It was as if the guy had some sort of psychological breakdown midway through writing a review. One of the most bizarre and cringey things I've ever seen.

I know how to find charts based on one genre, but lets i wanted to filter the chart to two specfic genres overlapping, say indie folk, and noise rock or something, is that possible, or so i have to just put indie folk and just hope to find albums that feature noise rock as well as i scroll through
