Literally just an album of catchy poppy little rock songs

>literally just an album of catchy poppy little rock songs
>"post punk revival"
???
I've heard this played on the radio at restaurants. What does it have to do with post punk?

It's literally a Television + Modern Lovers ripoff

Its about the production quality. There's nothing really in the requirements for being post punk about song structures.

The Strokes are the worst band of the century

What about the production quality is post punk?

Who said it's post punk? stop reading stupid critics

>dual guitars playing angular riffs
>thick bass
>minimal sound
Being poppy doesn't dequlify it from being post-punk. Lot's of post-punk is poppy as shit.

post-punk is rock music that is good
the strokes are good
ergo the strokes are post-punk

I don't know if I would go so far as to call them the worst, but desu I can't stand that 2000s NYC hipster aesthetic. It's so fucking gay.

The Strokes epitomise 2000s poseurcore

Not only is their music offensively bland and boring, they were the final nail in the coffin for guitar music.

This. Post-Punk is mainstream AF.

Along with Interpol, Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem, Coldplay, Dan Deacon, etc.

It’s more garage rock revival. I don’t consider this post punk at all.

Good riddance, and I hope the final nail in the coffin for hip hop and trap comes very soon as well.

I agree, that's enough for music, we can stop.

>>"post punk revival"
it's garage rock revival
fucking zoomer

AnCo was interesting. Sounded like nothing else before it.

>catchy

understatement of the decade

Just Beach Boys but gayer

Fuck no. Listen to the actual music retard

Interpol were miles above their peers though, they're the only ones who came close to the og post-punk stuff.

t. listens to the vocals only

Interpol and The Strokes both sound like something that middle aged suburban moms would listen to.
I always thought that post punk was supposed to have some edge like This Heat or Public Image Ltd. But these revival bands are just safe, normalfag indie rock.

>I always thought that post punk was supposed to have some edge like This Heat or Public Image Ltd.
Lots of post-punk has an accessible sound, like The Chameleons or The Sound. The bands you listed, with a much more absract sound and are a minority.

two sides of same coin innit. Just waste bin labels for generic post-1995 rock.

the best and most underrated AnCo song

this tbqh desu

I've listened to Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Cure and Legião Urbana on the radio at restaurants, but they're still post-punk. Not saying The Strokes is post-punk but that's not a very good criteria

Even then PILtd had Rise. Post Punk was mainstream as hell in the 80s and 90s. Don't try to pretend that "Post" makes the music more "intelligent". It's literally just Punk, which is also poppy as hell, with different structures.

Sounds like proto punk/garage rock to me
