imagine arguing over which stupid boomer amp is better

>TOOBS
>no separate gain and volume
>no presence or resonance controls
>no mid control
>no effects loop
>no line out for the PA
>reverb not footswitchable
>channel switching is done by unplugging your guitar
>paying nearly $1000 for this

It's objectively worse than a modern amp. Deal with it.

Attached: 1284034961642.jpg (600x663, 44.56K)

>tubes are objectively better than SS
>reverb is footswitchable, retard. Along with vibrato
>you should be micking your amp and not using line out, retard
do you even gig?

you forgot the

>worth the same or more in the future
>fairly easy to repair

i prefer SS amps tho fwiw

Why?

every now and again they come up for an absolute steal, and i refuse to pay into boomer pricing for tube amps.

i dont hate tube amps at all but the market is fucking retarded

So you really don't prefer them, it's just all you can afford.

Quite the opinion you have there.

i can afford them, im just not retarded enough to spend double its worth because muh tubes.

im wealthy for a reason.

>Falling for the mic meme
Use the line out. If it was your tubes creating the tone, it would sound fine. You're just using a different speaker, right?

Or wait, could it be that tone actually comes from the speaker and the tubes sound just like digital models?

>Or wait, could it be that tone actually comes from the speaker and the tubes sound just like digital models?
nailed it.

good cab meant for tube amps + solid state head = godly tone.

How do you transcribe dissonant melodies? It it's a regilar melody it's fairly easily if you know the key, you have a limited number of notes you can play, but you don't have that frame of reference if it's someting dissonant or atonal.

Example: I'm trying to transcribe the bass melody that plays from around 3:50 to 3:54.youtube.com/watch?v=g3KjRjVPhrY
I only managed to get the first two notes, F and F#. What do?

You're not wealthy.
You're also too dumb to understand why things cost money. You realize they make new tube amps right? And that they've always been approximately the same price. Tube amps are expensive to manufacture. It's not boomers making them expensive. They don't sell for "double it's worth because muh tubes".

SS cope

Watch out, he's wealthy for a reason. That reason is solid state.

ok goy just consume some more

tube amps are a fucking meme dude. just because they are expensive to manufacture doesn't mean they are worth the money. this is some retard logic on your part.

you are just jealous that I make smarter purchasing decisions than you.
enjoy paying off your 1 bed apartment in 70 years :)

So what kind of amp do you "wealthy" people use?

a jc120 i bought for $100 in the early 90s.
guess how much its worth now?

>Tube amps are expensive
They are slightly more expensive. The BOM, tubes included, is a couple hundred more. So what makes them upwards of $2k? The answer is because people will pay that much.

Burger capitalism is not founded on "price everything as low as possible to beat the competition" because that assumes perfect high volume manufacturing that allows the cheapest, fastest, highest quality producer to become a temporary monopoly. That's china capitalism. It's founded on "price everything as high as you can to balance sales volume with production capacity and maintain target profits".

actually tube amp manufacturers resist automation and hand wire shit to keep prices high

why? the high prices just fund the additional labor, right?

because it's a low volume product and investing in automation wouldn't be worth it

About $600?

double that

I've never heard a line out not sound like absolute shit. They're always ass

You can buy a new one for $1000.

You mean because volume productions ruins the hype and guitarists are able to hear hype. Look at mesa/boogie. Hand wired mark IIC? Best toan ever. Identical sounding mark V? Ackshually I find it's quite lifeless and sterile. But nigger.... they are both the same overly scooped, bassy, fizzy mesa/booger tone!

Fun guitarist trick. Buy two identical pickups, without covers. Give one an aged nickel cover. Give the other the same cover, but paint it in a layer of black plastic so it looks like an an EMG, Ask the guitarist which one sounds better. The bare nickel will always sound more open, organic, etc even though both are electrically identical, eddy currents at all. Now try an uncovered one and a solid plastic cover. They are also identical - plastic has no magnetic properties. The uncovered one will be open and the one of rock n roll. The plastic cover will be compressed and sterile according to the guitarist.

then add $200+ vintage boomer tax

>most shit
>older but virtually identical stuff is cheaper
>guitar shit
>older but virtually identical stuff costs as much as it did when it was brand new, and it has better tone
>double blind tests have never proved the second part

the dark wood = dark tone belief is proof enough.

>rosewood
>very stiff and hard
>like maple on steroids
>acoustic guitarist: buy one with a rosewood back and sides for a bright, sparkly, full bodied tone
>electric guitarist: dark wood. dark tone. simple as. use a maple fretboard for more treble.

Which pickup height sounds better? Help me decide.

I'm pretty sure guitarists could come up for some broscience explaining why exotic hardwood amp head enclosures sound better.

>tube amps don't have master volume, effects loop etc
This is the guy trying to make an opinionated shitpost. Look at him and laugh

the princeton, deluxe, and twin don't

>he buys a $2000 tube amp but cant afford rent

lmao

Mid controls are tone suckers! Another variable resistor in the tone stack? Pfooey! I prefer the fix, rock solid tone of a regular resistor. It lets the electrons breathe and pass through without getting confused by space age tech.

>One by one only the good die young
73 isn't young, retard.

It's just "wealthy" poorfags trying to make themselves feel good about their SS amps.

Rich people have money, not gear. Have you ever heard of Donald Trump, known for his signature Trump Amplifier? Neither have I.

Attached: 918.jpg (1080x1070, 313.68K)

yeah just consume some more goy

Use your ear and learn to hear tones semitones and larger intervals and chords instead of just vaguely hearing the pitch just to find the notes in the scale
Btw would you give me $5 if I transcribe it for you

Holy shit it jumpscared me. Is this the ideal beauty of zoomers?

You think Trump plays golf with cheap clubs?

Well just get your cheap solid state no one is stopping you

Is this what you planned to do this weekend? Post pictures of trannies every thread as you sit in your favela?

He sure doesn't play guitar, lmao. Time to sell your Gibson for a golf bag. Guitar is a poorfag hobby and everything in it is relatively cheap.
