Why is Zutara more popular than it was 12 years ago? Despite people knowing Kataang is endgame, people who have only recently watched it due to Netflix are jumping on the Zutara boat that sunk many years ago?

What is with this pairing that makes it so popular?

It's not.
Its retarded and delusional supporters are more vocal.

Being a Zuko fan must be suffering when so many people talk about this retarded ship.

Mommy issues and fire/water red/blue enemies-to-lovers shipping

>more popular than before
You absolute fool

Extremely retarded ship, here's why I think it exists:
>people self-insert as Zuko (because of his teen angst) and want him to get with the most prominent female character
>Zuko somehow "deserves" Katara because of his character development (see above)
>fire/water opposites
>Zuko is taller than Katara, unlike Aang
>contrarian while requiring no imagination

I will add one thing that is actually fair for them, Mai is a very weak love interest. The show does a poor job of showing why she's even with Zuko.

People like doomed or noncanon ships. It's the whole point of shipping. If something's canon, there's no need for fanon to prop it up.

Divine punishment on Bryke for creating Korra, hopefully.

I say let them suffer.

Kataang:
Awkward Kiss before the day of Black sub

Unwanted kiss in ember Island players

Aang and Katara literally being separated the entirely of the finale until the end scene where they kiss outta nowhere

This ship is good amirite?

Zuko and Katara build a bond of trust in the finale and face Azuka together. Katara sheds tears when Zuko takes a lightning bolt for her. Zuko sees Katara's dark side that Aang never does.

Face it after Ehasz left, Zuko and Katara don't have any meaningful interactions with Zuko in the comics.

Katara is reduced to a southern healer who is not proactive

Aang got Katara despite all their romantic interactions were bad.

Your theory assumes most shippers to be male, while they are actually females self inserting into Katara that want to fuck the hot broody guy and not the bald child. Also fire and water, you are right about that.

characters who argue and don't like each other are shipped all the time for some stupid reason

Zuko and Katara stopped arguing after southern raiders. In fact after that they had each others back for the rest of the show

>after souther raiders

after that was literally a filler episode where they didn't interact and then the finale

Nice cherrypicking.

Was really hard to cherry pick the. There so little moments that Katara reciprocated other than their dance and the cave of two lovers. Everything else is her mothering Aang. Zuko and Katara are actual equals.

Because that is the normalfag ship. When I first watched Avatar ages ago I thought it is just natural that will be the endgame. There aren't many important single characters in the show. I don't remember exact scenes that much, but they shared one in the cave and honestly the final battle is pretty important. Zuko faces his greatest challenge with Katara. Not Mei, not with someone else but Katara (he even sacrifices himself for her). The entire thing with Aang is weird, call me old school but Aang is younger, shorter, kiddy and he is the hero who is too busy with saving the world. Simple as that.
>inb4 Zutarafag
I'm into Firecest but this doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about what realistically should have happened.

It's the idea of Aang, the most powerful being in the universe, getting cucked by a complete jobber.

Zuko/Katara is stupid
But so is Aang/Katara, she has nothing but sisterly affection for him the whole fucking series

That must have made the sex weird.

>people self-insert as Zuko and don't want him to end up heal-fucking Azula into a healthy relationship with multiple kids
shit taste I tell you

This is now a zucest thread, post em

I'd rather post Joo Dees

Teenage girls self-inserting on Katara and lusting after the brooding, attractive bad boy. Same old same old.

I self-insert as Zuko and imagine marrying Jin as I run a tea shop with my Uncle up until Azula's coup.

>a filler episode
You are an idiot.

It's not more popular.
Unless there is proof like more fanfiction produced this year than 12 years ago.

Otherwise it's you noticing more threads on a Tiawanese maraca selling website and assume it's a reflection of the world.

>What is with this pairing that makes it so popular?
Chemistry.

Because no 14 year old girl would find a bald 12 year old attractive. It's that simple. Plus going from enemies to lovers is far far far more interesting than the stupid crush from episode 1 being dragged on for 60 episodes.
Here's the writer btw pure coincidence.

See. This guy get its.

>but muh Zuko faced Azula with Katara
It was retarded. Probably her biggest Mary Sue moment. The fact that she stole spotlight from Zuko and defeated Azula with some bullshit freeze bending was the worst part of the finale (second only maybe to energybending and Aang refusing to kill Ozai).
