OK, so Jessica tracks down the baby's father and marries him, then finds out he's a supervillain. Marcus comes back and fights Rhodey for the right to marry Carol. Rhodey makes a superhuman effort to convince everyone he wasn't trying to lose.

Turn her into an Oracle-type character. Her kid is a good enough reason to take her off the streets, she's got connections to SHIELD, HYDRA, the news media, the military, and the Avengers, and she's got experience as both a superhero and an investigator. Plus you could bring her back into action if you really wanted to since her stepping out of heroics would be a choice rather than a necessity. Don't necessarily go magical hacker with her, but she could easily be revamped into a linewide recurring character that provides information and support.
