Discovery was mad at the runaway success Hub had from the start and tried to invalidate their deal almost from the start. So when it came time to renew the partnership Hasbro wasn't interested. Also they gave up on buying Dreamworks so that was likely part of it too.

I Loved how this channel was a better Nickelodeon than Nickelodeon at the time. Kids shows during the say, old sitcoms at night. Was comfy for those old school Nick at Nite days.

I hate to use this word, but dammit it oozed soul and the day it died everything special about it died with it, with only MLP serving as their Spongebob/TTG, refusing to go away even as the later season begged for a mercy kill.

Because they wanted top billing, and there was barely any Discovery left in its DNA, which you can argue is a good thing since the last days of Discovery Kids were nothing but endless marathons of Kenny the Shark

It was destined to fail. The only way to get the channel was by getting the highest tier on most cable packages, which for most people just looking to get children's entertainment it's just not worth it when CN, Nick, and Disney are available on the lower packages.

Other than the new shows I liked that they rerun G.I. Joe and G1 Transfomrers late at night and had an option to switch from Adult Swim if they showed something unwatchable ( 12 oz. mouse, Tim & Eric)
