South Park has been ass for like 10 years. It's not as embarrassing as other shows because Matt and Trey can still write good jokes, but they definitely can't do it on a weekly basis.
They need to change format if they want to save the show. Their best work in the past decade is from longer scripted works that take longer than a couple weeks to write (Broadway and video games)

Her first season was a nice change of pace that let us see Cartman care about someone beyond himself and how his insecurities can bring even the good things in his life crashing down. Her second season gave us Cartman's anti-suicide song. Two strong positives.
