With him shitting on Jae Lee and winning Eisner after Eisner, is there anyone that can actually stop him?
With him shitting on Jae Lee and winning Eisner after Eisner, is there anyone that can actually stop him?
I still don't understand Lee in this.
how has the dude been in the industry as long as he has, have barely any online presence, and no idea of the politics in the industry?
like King fucked up by not approaching DC/Lee first, no knocking that.
he fucked up by entering the industry
he should go back to being a coked out CIA fag with a mommy fetish
>is there anyone that can actually stop him?
Unironically himself
Is this just a King-hate thread, or is this just another stealth comicsgate thread? I can never tell them apart at first glance.
But that Lee shit ended up biting him in the ass
Comics Gate is pure fucking cringe and anyone that supports it is probably retarded. This is a King hate thread.
He's not on Twitter and doesn't come to Zig Forums, so CG is just a tree falling in the woods he doesn't care to hear.
>him shitting on Jae Lee
He's apologized profusely for that, and apparently mended bridges with Lee.
I don't care about any -gate, but Tom King is a massive faggot and everyone should be reminded of that fact.
>He's apologized profusely for that, and apparently mended bridges with Lee.
Yeah, he's mended bridges. All is goo--
>"I spoke with Jae. He's not on Twitter, didn’t know Comicsgate existed, and doesn’t support hate of any kind," King tweeted Friday evening. "We're all good. Best possible outcome."
Wait... Oh no no no no no
>"I'm writing this because I'm angry," Lee wrote Sunday on Instagram. "These irresponsible tweets are not harmless. They do not just go away. They have real-world consequences. They can take away your job. Your life. Your memories. June and I were robbed of a special day. So, no, we're not 'all good'."
Because Jae Lee supposedly only has an Instagram
If that's true that's the worst possible place to get any info on Comicsgate because not many people talk about it on there.
Why did this fuckface have to be given Batman? He clearly hates everything about the character and the type of man the character is. He’s a much better fit for Superman.
One false accusation.
You're acting as if EVS didn't sperg out talking to Lee about how comics are ruined and his cyberfrog is saving them
Tom King ruined Batman. Not sure what you're sperging about, you ignorant faggot.
>Jae did comics art for Ethan Van Sciver, a known outspoken member of ComicsGate
>Sciver promotes his new book touting Jae Lee's cover art with #COMICSGATE
>Oh it was all a misunderstanding, he never knew, he's not part of any group
If that's even true, doesn't that make Lee at the vary least negligent in not figuring out what his art was being used to promote? Because it's evident Sciver had every intention of using it to promote the movement.
Honestly yeah. If he's mad that tweets are dangerous, then he is at least aware of Twitter outrage and should be aware of the one movement besides #metoo that affects this tiny industry.
Well it depends on if it's true Jae Lee only has Instagram. I found out EVS has a separate Instagram account for the Comicsgate specific stuff, but Lee doesn't even follow EVS' two Instagram accounts.
Not really? His last interior work was in early 2016, long before the Comicsgate shitstorm. If he walked away from Twitter his point of reference would be the Twitter drama of the mid-00's, not the Comicsgate wars.
Because Jae is just a professional artist, he did a cover for Cyberfrog in the 90s and 25 years later EVS asked him to do another one for his Indiegogo campaign... who would've thought of something malicious? Actually EVS is the dick herefor not warning Jae beforehand, I bet he let him walk right into a trap so he could profit from the drama.
I think what I'm seeing now is that it's an unfortunate reality that you now have to check on a public figure's social media presence to see if they're someone you want to be associated with. Which is gross to even think about really, especially Twitter, which is honestly one of the worst sites, that you should have to scroll through it to find out what side of a culture war that you never wanted to be involved with someone is on. Like okay, maybe Lee was negligent, but Tom should have reached out to him first to try to find out what was the real connection rather than going in guns blazing. But that's what people on Twitter seem to do.
>Actually EVS is the dick here
Well there's ample evidence for that, so I fully believe it's plausible Lee wasn't warned.
I actually didn't have a proper clue on what ComicsGate was, so I'm researching it atm.
>Kenneth Rocafort supports CG
>Greg Capullo is doing covers for them.
Like what?
That looks like Greg Capullo's pre-Spawn style. Looks like it's a remastering of a piece he did in the 90's.
Oh yeah, you're right. Are the characters from Spawn too? I don't really get how people can just write for Spawn and then own the characters. Neat gig.
Here's the original, turns out I was wrong, this was from 1994 so it's kinda around the time he was becoming regular penciler on Spawn.
>Are the characters from Spawn too? I don't really get how people can just write for Spawn and then own the characters. Neat gig.
No, these are characters Art Thibert created (so he owns the rights), which is why he's bringing them back.
So he created the characters and they were used in Spawn? Is that right? Is this similar to the Neil Gaiman situation that arose from Spawn?
>So he created the characters and they were used in Spawn?
They weren't used in Spawn at all. It was a title called Black & White, which Art Thibert wrote and drew. Capullo probably drew that image back in the 90's because he was friends with Thibert.
Oh my mistake, I figured it was actually a Spawn cover or something
>Why did this fuckface have to be given Batman? He clearly hates everything about the character and the type of man the character is
What the fuck are you talking about? Just because he writes Batman as fucking up doesn't mean he hates him.
Based Jae. Hope it shows how cancel culture and twitter is dumb!
>Actually decide I'm going to pick up Cyberfrog to try it out.
>It's $25 for 2 issues before shipping.
Fuck that
They already put him on a shorter leash. Guess he stopped himself.
Honestly, even if you support their message, why would anyeone want to spend the money to support ComicsGrift?
The comic could be good?
if he keeps pissing off artists eventually nobody will want to work with him
>is there anyone that can actually stop him?
>stopping ex-CIA
lol, no
I really like him in the Fast and Furious movies.
