Marvel Comics reportedly has no work for Spider-Gwen co-creator Jason Latour following allegations sexual harassment.

With accusations of sexual harassment against the artist/writer recently coming to light, Marvel Comics reportedly has no current plants to work with Spider-Gwen co-creator Jason Latour in the future.

The Hollywood Reporter ran a piece detailing measures taken to halt misconduct in the industry, including cutting ties with alleged abusers. Citing Insiders from Marvel, THR explains that "the company has no plans with the creator [Latour]."

Latour is best known for creating Spider-Gwen alongside artist Robbi Rodriguez. The comic centers on Earth-65's version of Gwen Stacy who takes up the mantle of Spider-Woman (later Ghost-Spider); the character became a runaway hit, later appearing in the animated feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Latour's other work for Marvel includes Wolverine and the X-Men.

Latour was accused of harassment and sexual misconduct by illustrator and designer Lauren Tracey, aka Lorua, in June. Loura described an encounter at the 2017 Thought Bubble festival where Latour continually tried to proposition her to come to his hotel room. The account was later backed up by stories from other comics pros, including Hannah Blumenreich and Tess Fowler. Other creators who have had allegations leveled against them include Warren Ellis and Cameron Stewart; Rodriguez has also been accused of inappropriate behavior.

Good. The joke has gone on long enough.

Bury Gwenpool next to her while they're at it.

Huh. Maybe Marvel is just giving up on Spider-Gwen too? Would explain her absence from this upcoming cover too

Isn't that that guy who tweeted Richard Meyer of his gaping asshole or something?

>Cameron Stewart
Cameron Stewart? Batgirl Cam?
What the fuck did he do?

Marvel finally got the hint that Emma Stone was years ago and nobody cares about that aborted movie series anymore.

Maybe Kindred really is 616 Gwen

I have gotten to a point where I interact with women at work as little as possible because of cancel culture. I deliberately avoid working in departments with more than a couple women, and when I have to talk to them I only say what is absolutely necessary. I don't greet them, or make small talk with them, or ask them how their day is going. I leave them alone completely. I don't want to do this, but the fact of the matter is that a woman can make a claim that I sexually harassed her with no evidence and I will immediately be assumed guilty and fired without due process. It doesn't matter that I would never sexually harass anyone; the lack of actual proof needed to make the claim combined with the fact that the term has been expanded to mean almost anything means that anyone can be accused of it. There's definitely real sexual harassment out there, but I can't risk losing the ability to feed and shelter myself just because a woman decided she didn't like me, or thought I was staring at her when I wasn't, or freaked out because I accidentally bumped into her or something else absurd. It just sucks though. I would much rather treat women as friends and equals, but I can't because they've pushed for a system that gives them a proverbial gun to my head. I can see at work that women are annoyed with how cold I am to them while being friendly to men, but what choice do I have? It's not as simple as not catcalling, or creeping on girls, which any socially well-adjusted person already knows not to do. If I can be fired just for making someone "uncomfortable" without actually doing anything, why would I take that risk? I'll work with women because of course I have to, but I will never treat them equally to men, because they've made it impossible.

yep

they need to push Silk more

No, fuck Slott shitty mary sue OC

Lol I'm sure that's completely changed how much you talk to women

It seems like it for mainline stuff. If the Spider-verse sequel is still a thing, they’re apparently gonna expand on the cut romance between her and Miles (supposedly I heard this somewhere I got no sauce) that was cut due a lack of development of their relationship in the film.
>Marvel only pushed Silk when she was Slott’s weird fetish fantasy
It still baffles me.

Based. Interacting with cunts more than necessary is suicidal.

Even if you doubt this one particular user, the last study I saw said 27% of men now avoid all one on one meetings with women. The risk is too high.

Holy shit it's real

>They’re angry that they’ve been made to think about their behavior, made to interrogate power dynamics they always took for granted, and they are punishing women for it by refusing to interact with them.

These people actually think it's a hivemind conspiracy from all men and that men aren't genuinely scared of having their livelihoods ruined without reason or evidence by a witch hunt. Let's take a moment to laugh at their complete lack of self-awareness before the jannies nuke this thread for bringing actual discussion

Several years ago I was already accused of sexual harassment. A female coworker thought I was taking pictures of her with my phone when I was just on the internet looking for music and didn't even know she was in the room.

its more a woman misunderstanding something you said as sexual harassment or racism or sexism or w/e crazy shit they can come up with and then instantly reporting you framing what you did in the worst light. even chads aren't immune to this because most women like to cause pain

They might not be working with Latour anymore, but they are absolutely keeping Gwen around. She's going to be in that tie-in mini series with the other Earth-616 Spiders (except the Scarlet Spiders because fuck them, I guess).

Fucking/trying to fuck teenagers.

eternally mad spider-gwen got her own comic instead of the way cooler concept of neon genesis spidergelion

to this day not sure what marvel thought the audience was for the lady who'd been dead for about 40 years

Christ almighty don't shit where you eat. Just avoid women anywhere near where you work especially in the emtertainment industry

Ok.

He was an awful writer.

>Robbi Rodriguez
Didn’t he lie about going blind?

Who is that girl bottom left? Mattie resurrected?

>This literally happened to my brother at his job and the boss sent him home
>he is scared for his life now
Damn it all.

Just say your gay and call it a day. The women will be off your back and may even start giving you tips.

Spider-Woman

Jessica Drew. She got a new costume and design.

it's Jessica Drew, I guess she's getting a haircut

Seriously? This is even worse than the last one, why is she looking so deaged too?

They had her old costume back in Strikeforce, why can’t they ever learn

I just think Asian girls are cute

Just get rid of Miles and it'd be the perfect lineup

>why is she looking so deaged too?
I think that is just the artist drawing her that way.
