So is he Reed Richards time-displaced father from an alternate universer or what?

Kang simply is.

He never really comes off smart or capable enough to be a Reed.

I thought he was a descendant of Reed.

>Took over the planet effortlessly
>Learned how to make time travel technology from scrap
>Created an entire robot army himself

>Not smart enough to be a Reed

No one knows. He is a spider web of contradictions. But I like him

I like Kang because he’s one of the few solo Avengers villains who feels like he can take on the A team roster of Avengers. Everyone jerks off Ultron and Thanos, but Kang was one of the first to actually solo the Avengers, straight up conquered earth by force, wiped out millions, and always seems to cause huge fuckups whenever he decides to make a play. He just seems so dangerous across the board.

Per Degaton does it better while overcoming the fact that he's a manlet desu

I like Kang because of the shear inability for anyone to actually explain his deal, and it sucks that he’s been jobbing for the last few years whenever he shows up

Growing up I imagined Kang sounding like Keith David, probably because I’m used to purple characters being voiced by him.

Eh. Kang has job Ed more than Ultron as of late. Ultron is who I think of as the main Avengers villain cause he is unstoppable and becomes more powerful as time goes on.

He's also Doom, but don't worry, we will have an answer when he appears in the MCU and he's Stark and then synergy!

Iron-Lad is canon to Kang's history, unless that gets retconned out, so Kang is literally just some genius kid from the future. Potentially a descendent of Reed Richards (and maybe Doom as well?).

Iron-Lad completely contradicts other canon to Kang, that's part of the problem

Kang is either a descendant of Reed or Doom and because of the implications, Marvel has repeatedly refused to give a straight answer.

Sadly his movie rights are tied to the Fantastic Four due to the fact his Ramma Tut persona debuted in Fantastic Four unfortunately

MCU Kang is going to be how they resurrect and recast Tony. Because time shenanigans.

oh god, and he's going to be some ancestor of Tony too. Just kill me

Isn't he some kind of Tony's descendant in that shitty Avengers Assemble animated series?

Kang is from the future of an alternate timeline that had been visited by both Doom, and by Reed's father Nathaniel, he is believed to be a descendant of one of them, but which one is unknown. Things are further confused by the first time Doom and Kang met, where the idea was raised that they could have been the same man at different points in his life, this never became canon but Marvel still love referencing it.

Why the fuck does he have to be related to anyone? My favorite Kang origin is simply some bored nobody from the future who read too much history and wanted to relive it.

WE WUZ/IZ/WILL BE KAAAAANGZ

The simplest answer would be that he's descendant of both. Have Doom and Valeria Richards have a kid together. Doom is already grooming Valeria anyway. It becomes the ultimate spite from Doom's part against Reed, explain how Kang was an uber genius (the guy is a scion of 2 most intelligent men in the planet) and refers the old comics about his origins.

Wasn't he a descendant of Dr. Doom at one point?

He's been Tony's descendant in the comics too.
