Would it work as a tv series?
Would it work as a tv series?
If you could remove the inevitable censoring maybe
think i read that adult swim wanted to make it into a series but somehow they were cockblocked because of the meg and mog children's series the characters were inspired from
It'd work best as a webseries IMO
you got a source for that?
Found it cbr.com
>Adult Swim wrote to me a few weeks ago, but I think I fucked it up by telling them I'd have to retain all rights to the characters. There's no way I'm selling off control of this shit. I have way too many plans. I love the autonomy in comics so much.
Couldn't they get away with it as a parody? Rick and Morty had to change from being literally called Doc and Mharti, but other than that the Back to the Future reference is obvious. I feel like MM&O could do the same
Based Hanselmann
Nope. Some things only work in print.
Read all of the comics for the the first time yesterday and fucking loved them. I also found them strangely comfy, for whatever reason.
I like them but I also find them really depressing so I don't return to them very often
the coronavirus arc is great
where to read?
weirdly, instagram
instagram.com
there is a lot of content, you can go all of it, or start from the FUMETTO 2020 cancellation announcement, then Simon just goes crazy.
That's a shame, but Hanselmann totally made the right choice. Adult Swim is like the only network that would keep the artstyle though.
looks like I'll have to make an account for this, bleh
it might work on tv but finding the right voices for the characters would be tough. since it's always been kind of unclear whether it's set in tasmania or seattle, and the characters often use a lot of australian syntax and slang which is pretty inherent to the writing but might sound weird with american va's
some hero ripped all the individual panels, assembled them into pages and dumped them on 420chan i think, it might be a few days behind though
Well the TV show would have to be rated a hard R, which by then will it even be allowed on TV?
I think a lot of the humor would be lost in the adaption to animation. Like with a lot of the silent pauses with repeat panels. It would probably be tiring after a while. Plus I enjoy the minimalist that goes into the comics.
eh, silent pauses can work in animated comedies: youtube.com
space ghost also did a lot of that
Not saying it couldn't work, but might also depend on the team working on it.
Netflix.
>2020
>watching TV
it's the age of streaming, baby
I dunno if Netflix would even want to fund a MM&O series.
Just read it here
boards.420chan.org
Yes, but only if it was low framerate watercolor animation desu
It wouldn't work with flat shaded digital, it wold probably end up looking shitty like pic related
Netflix funds a lot of weird shit
God, I miss the neely creased comics power point style. He was able to fit so much into frames and tell such good stories.
thanks
I see the reaction images are still going strong
i'd agree with this. some comics work especially well because of the timing of reading the comic and it completely falls flat when they try to animate it. see: the animation test they did for achewood.
