I found 3 below a bit lackluster. It was entertaining but not strong enough to stand by itself and I imagine confusing for people who opened it without realizing it was a sequel to troll hunters, Netflix should have really put down as a season of trollhunters.

I hope this series picks it up a bit.

Apparently that is S1E26. It is a two parter so possible you also watched E27 so you could probably start on S2 of Trollhunters.

Trollhunters started off Pretty weak and generic, but really found its footing once they established that Jim is accepted as the Trollhunter. Then each season got better, and the finale was fantastic.

3Below is fun. It’s not exactly teeming with originality, but the fights are great, the alien designs are really good, and there’s some solid characters.

See, I thought the exact opposite. Trollhunters was best in the early episodes and just gradually got worse and worse as time went on. No other villains had the same stage presence as Bular, Gunmar and Morgana were especially huge disappointments after how 'larger than life' they'd been built up as. Jim was at his most interesting when he was fighting against the prejudice of the trolls as a mirror to his own internal struggles. The drama with his human friends that took center stage later on was much more typical and boring than the drama with Draal and the trolls in the early episodes. Changelings were really built up as credible threats in the early episodes, espicially to Jim since he was a human Trollhunter, but ended up practically being non entities throughout the story and never used their human forms against him effectively (annoying him by dating his mom and being difficult to babysit don't count).

Oh, and that whole Jim having to become half-troll plot, which was pretty dumb. Considering how it just came out of nowhere, my guess is that the writers knew that both Morgana and Gunmar were pretty weak villains with no personal relationship to the hero, so they needed to spice things up with last-minute drama

Trollhunters was painfully generic show riddled with overused tropes. 3 below was even worse because it was awfully derivative not only to sci-fi genre but to Trollhunters too. It was basically the same shit. Authors did nothing interesting with sci-fi concept at all. It was just very annoying when they constantly telling how primitive humans are while their own culture being analogue of generic human medieval culture. The only redeeming qualities for this series are good CGI and serialized plot.

Tales of Arcadia is apparently the name of the series/setting that this new show is part of, along with "TrollHunters" and "3 below".

This series is generally unoffensive but because it is so generic there is nothing to talk about. Everything is just an overused trope from characters and world building to plot.
That's why those threads are rare and usually die with a few responses.
