I dont really get the connection between deers and radios. I know Alistar's current design is supposed to look like a deer too. I wonder she had him in her mind for a long time and came up with the radio demon thing separately later and just smooshed the two ideas together.

Minimizing the design sort of misses the point for why people even like this show's art in the first place.
People are sick of minimalist calarts shit and this is basically a punk fuck you response to that where shit's overly busy, detailed, and intricate. Could definitely be better executed, but you want to know something?
This one character's genuinely fantastically designed because people can easily recognize him, he gets constantly remixed into different memes, and is unmistakably on brand.
Most of the people trying to "fix" hazbin hotel are wannabe cartoonists with no identity of their own trying to fit it into a pre existing mold. Sure, this show's faggy tranny propaganda for furries and it isn't my cup of tea, but given that its THE single most successful youtuber indie animation of all time, I'd say it doesn't need fixing at all. It won. It proved that not only are Vivzie's sparkledog sensibilities in demand, but also that they're HEAVILY in demand.

Honestly I don't think cutting out those details makes anything better. His gold tooth is something that ties him to Valentino, it's a vital piece of character, and the pinstripe suit makes the mobster connection more clear.
